Flag-Draped Homes Target For Racist Graffiti Vandals by Paula Katinas
Patriotic Bay Ridge residents were attacked on Memorial Day by heartless graffiti vandals who spray painted “PLO” on the trees in front of their flag-draped homes, according to angry neighbors.
“They only picked the houses where American flags were hanging,” said a shaken Ayad Eskandar.
The vandals struck on the tree-lined block of Senator Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
The vandals wrote PLO in red spray paint on approximately half a dozen trees and on one garage door, said neighbors.
Eskandar said he and his neighbors believe the graffiti vandals are young punks sympathetic to the Palestine Liberation Organization.
Bay Ridge has a large population of Arabs. An attactk such as the memorial Day graffiti incident is almost unheard of in the multi-ethnic community.
A spokesman at One Police Plaza, the Police department’s headquaters, said the department had no record of the graffiti incidents on Senator Street. “We have no reports of it,” said the spokesman.
Police at the 68th precint, which covers Bay Ridge, could not be reached for comment at press time.
But the Caily News cited police sources as saying the there were two trees hit on the block. The newspaper also reported that the police do not believe the graffiti attacks were bias incidents, nor do they believe they were politically motivated.
Eskandar disputed the offical account of the attacks on him and his neighbors. “It was more than six trees and one private garage,” he said, adding that the letters PLO were spray painted on a garage on the corner of Senator Street and Sixth Avenue.
Eskandar, a native of Egypt who came to the United States 27 years ago, bought his Senator Street house in 1987.
He discovered the PLO graffiti early Monday morning when he walked out of his house to take a stroll. “I always like to take a walk when I’m off from work,” he said.
The fact that the incident took place on Memorail Day, the day when the country honors its war dead, angered him, said Eskandar.
The incident has left him concerned for his saftey and the saftey of his family, said eskandar.
“Maybe it’s people who want us out. My neighbors are also worried. They’re worried these people will come back. I spoke to neighbors yesterday who told me they’re afraid to hang out their American flags,” he said.
He’s also not cleaning the PLO graffiti.
“The police told me the tree is not my property. It’s public property that belongs to the city. Let the city come and clean it,” he said.

Mid east politics is full of crap. The radio station (propaganda machine) was controlled by Fatah. The Palestinian people chose in an election Hamas because Fatah was so riddled with corruption. Fatah was the party of Arafat and most in Palestine know he was as corrupt as hell.
For anyone who wonders why we didn't take Iraq and immediately declare elections and run away. This is why. the most radical element supported by the most radical mnosques will win every time. The rsult is what we have with the Palestinians now.
I'm from Texas, and we have two American flags in our front yard. one large one hanging over the garage, and a smaller one in the yard. someone went around and put a small American flag in the grass of every yard in the neighborhood. It was a home insurance company who did it, but I can really appreciate the patriotism. It looked really awesome driving through the streets. And the fact that just about everyone has left them out there is really uplifting.
That being said, if anyone did this little PLO-style stunt here, I'd hang 3 or 4 large flags over the garage in defiance. And clean my gun. =)

Around our neighborhood, someone has been putting up flyers of OBL with 'the new messiah' written on it.

Me too. I'm in Western NC in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mtns. We don't take kindly to anti-American behavior.
Imagine if it was Iran and and Al Jazeera went to cover an Iranian flag with "USA" spray painted on it. I'm sure it would translate out to "apparently pro-American markings", sure. Or, over in the Gaza strip, if the found a Star of David spray painted on one of their Palestian flags "Hey fellas, I think this appears to be a pro-Israeli marking of some sort..."
Well now, we can't rush to judgement.

Considering that liberals, Democrats and the Left generally find the American flag to be offensive, I'd guess they are all very pleased with this news - a little victory for them.
But at least DHS is giving more money to the cities of Omaha and Jacksonville to fight terrorism.
