If you're going to be around here long you must look past the blather the left creates on their own websites.

Did you notice the school disabled their "Enrollment" link? I can almost guarantee you there are probably 99% Mexicans at that school.

And where did you get your test score report? Cheerios?

Here is a link that I found that says these kids are in a downward spiral. http://www.greatschools.net/cgi-bin/ca/cat6_bytest/12317/

Though I'm sure they are being taught La Raza is everything and shortshrifting the 3Rs.

LAUSD Racist Charter School
By Clark Barker

It’s no secret that the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and teacher unions oppose charter schools.

As I’ve written here and here, LAUSD controls a $13.4 billion budget – 727,000 students ($18,431 per child). Only a tiny fraction of these funds gets into our children’s classrooms, while a large chunk goes through the teacher unions that fund Democrat candidates who oppose charter schools – whose students achieve significantly higher scores than their LAUSD peers. LAUSD opposes charters because they fear losing control of 1) their budget and 2) the Democrats who empower them.

Is there a better way to discredit charter schools than by granting charters to incompetent educators?

The Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School, an anti-American public school that cripples Mexican children with primitive anti-American dogma offers an elegant solution. LAUSD hopes that Academia Semillas will prove that charters are not an effective solution to LAUSD’s failures.

Think of it this way: If LAUSD opposed black educators but was pressured to hire them, what better evidence would they need for black incompetence than to hire illiterate felons? And when parents get angry about the results, LAUSD could blame “black educators.”

Don’t be fooled - this was deliberate!

Read State Senator George Runner's Letter to Roy Romer Superintendant of Los Angeles Unified School Disrict.

June 2, 2006

Dr. Roy Romer

Los Angeles Unified School District

333 S. Beaudry Ave., 24th Floor

Los Angeles, CA 90017

Dear Dr. Romer,

It has come to my attention that some questionable practices are occurring at the Academia Semillas del Pueblo charter school. Based on these reports, I am respectfully requesting that you investigate Academia Semillas del Pueblo charter school, which is a part of your school district.

As you know, LAUSD is the chartering authority for this school and so your district is responsible to hold the charter school accountable. You have full authority to revoke a charter under education code section 47607(c) if there are violations of the law.

Education Code 47607(c) states:

(c) A charter may be revoked by the authority that granted the charter under this chapter if the authority finds that the charter school did any of the following:
(1) Committed a material violation of any of the conditions, standards, or procedures set forth
in the charter.
(2) Failed to meet or pursue any of the pupil outcomes identified in the charter.
(3) Failed to meet generally accepted accounting principles, or engaged in fiscal mismanagement.
(4) Violated any provision of law.
(d) Prior to revocation, the authority that granted the charter shall notify the charter public school of any violation of this section and give the school a reasonable opportunity to cure the violation, unless the authority determines, in writing, that the violation constitutes a severe and imminent threat to the health or safety of the pupils.

Charter schools have proven to be very successful and I am in full support of them and their expansion. However, schools that may be abusing their authority and violating the law must be held accountable. I have also written a letter to Dr. Darline Robles, Los Angeles County Superintendent urging her to also investigate this school.

I urge you to take the appropriate steps as it is important to preserve the integrity of the law and not allow abuses to occur which ultimately hurts the students and the taxpayers.

Sincerely,

George C. Runner, Jr.

Senator, 17th District
