No, like I just said...I SHOULD have known to come here.

Last night, I wasn't on FR very much, my granddaugther was sick...so I read to her, and let her watch cartoons...and just held her.

So, I didn't make it to the DOSE..but, it was NO ONES fault but my own.

At least I got to see it...and enjoyed it very much while cooking part of the time.

With all of these pictures of the both of them...for some reason it brought back memories of the time they met on that island with Spain's Prime Minister Aznar...was John Howard there also?

Anyway..that was such an important time...but, I just remember the pictures of all of those wonderfully handsome heads of state, all lined up for the press conferences.

I just finished watching a documentary on A & E about an Ohio based Marine Reserve Unit named "Lima Company" and it was unbelievably moving. Every emotion is coursing through my body right now and I don't know if I should scream in anger, cry like a baby or curse at every anti-war protester I ever see, but one this is for sure, I am done wasting my time combating these disruptor's here on FR. I'm gonna focus on supporting our troops and visiting with the fabulous friends I have made here on this thread.

All of these arguments about politics is just what our enemies want, and these arguments are so trivial compared to what our men and women in uniform are facing everyday.

I just want to say "Thank You" both for the sacrifices you the both of you made as Mike and Eric were off doing the real fighting, and of course I want to say "Thank You" Mike and Eric for their service, and mystery-ak, another Thank You to your Son who is serving us all now

May God bless and protect out men and women in uniform. This country is blessed beyond words to have such Patriots as you and your families

Mike

DrDeb, Here is the best quote of the Presser... President Bush makes it crystal clear that the foreign policy of his predecessors are partially to blame for the Terrorism we face today

You know, foreign policy, for awhile, just basically said, if it seems okay on the surface, just let it be. And guess what happened? There was resentment and hatred that enabled these totalitarians to recruit and to kill, which they want to continue to do to achieve their objectives. And the best way to defeat them in the long run is through the spread of liberty.

And liberty has had the capacity to change enemies to allies. Liberty has had the capacity to help Europe become whole, free, and at peace. History has proven that freedom has got the capacity to change the world for the better, and that's what you're seeing.

You know, the amazing thing about dealing with Prime Minister Blair is never once has he said to me on the phone, we better change our tactics because of the political opinion polls. And I appreciate that steadfast leadership. And I appreciate somebody who has got a vision, a shared vision, for how to not only protect ourselves in the war on terror, but how to make the world a better place

The vision of this President will be talked and written about for generations to come

Ref. Post #164....

After listening to the Bush/Blair presser again, I heard Bush debunk this. The press still ran with it, like always, making it up as they go. Apparently, Jayson Blair has found employment again.

I suspect they use the same tailor

What is the best way to address concerns with ABC regarding their disgraceful blog yesterday which suggested the president and Blair show a lot of homoeroticism when they are together?

I am posting late to you because I spent 4hours last night in the ER with the new baby(virus).....Thank you so much for the kind words. The military has no greater friend than you and this family can attest to that!

Mike and I are giving Jonathan a going away party Sun for our family, I know it will be highly emotional even though my side of the family was career military. Please keep Jonathan in your prayers, he is so gung-ho that he worries me.... Love, Nancy

Since Mr.FF works at ABC News, I'm going to have to think about how. Not if, but how.

Okay, just let me know if you have any ideas because I am very, very offended by their blog which mentioned the homoeroticism between Bush/Blair, and I'm not terribly thrilled at Ross's mis-reporting that Hastert is under FBI investigation and their continuous reporting despite being given the fact that he is NOT under investigation.

@@@@

It is the gotcha mentality of the media, otherwise known as editorial comment of Bush hatred. This extends to anyone in his administration.

These reporters are so juvenile. They kid themselves that their world would be fine if Bush was not in the White House.

I share your view that Mike is among the greatest friends our military has, mystery!

And I too want to thank you, Mike, not only for your incredibly kind words, but for all the support and love you gave Eric, and have given me over the years. You're an amazing guy!

mystery, I wouldn't worry about Jonathan's 'gung-ho' attitude. Eric had/has it too, and their bravery and fearlessness actually, I think gives them added protection because they can stay cool under pressure. It's a good thing.

You KNOW Jonathan will be in my prayers, and YOU, and I hope your party for him Sunday, though bittersweet, will be a very special family time.

You have SO much to be proud of............and I am proud of YOU!

Queer, poof, in reference to behaviour. Often as seen by some homosexual comedians they behave in a camp manner, limp wristed - get my drift.

Oh .. well here, camp is a place where kids go for a weekend, week, to the whole summer to gain independence, to work together, live in tents, cabins or dorms, learn new sports and skills, recreate in the water, on trails, etc., have a ball, and are supervised in their various pursuits by camp counselors like ilovew (while their parents wonder what they're doing).

There's all kinds of camps, (I would think they have them in the UK as well) for different interests, from music to religion to writing, to all the various sports, etc. It's an American summertime tradition.

We are not into summer camp as you are in the States with the big organised camps designed for children to attend but not with their parents.

We have camp sites for families or just groups of people to use for holidays. So have additional facilities but many are just a field and washing facilities and possibly a shop to buy food and a social club for evening entertainment.

Also organizations like Guides and Scouts go camping. This weekend which is Spring Bank Holiday Weekend in Britain many Brownie, Cubs, Scouts and Guides will be camping. In fact a lady from work helps run a Scout group and she has borrowed the company van to transport a lot of the equipment for the weekend camp.

I have been camping myself twice both as an adult at a folk festival (Fairport Convention). Here a friend is pitching her tent.

That sounds awfully like the RV/Tent campground I go to once a year in July, here in Montana, up in Glacier International Peace Park, which stretches from northwest Montana up into Canada at the province of Alberta. :)

I camp at a campground just a little drive south of the town of East Glacier, which is the eastern gateway into the park.

The tent facilities are in the pine trees, and the RV's and campers set up in two large open fields (which are also horse pastures). It also has a community center for social activities, a shower facility, and there is a small shop at the main office.

Always GOOD to see you too onyx! Yep. I've been busy, busy, being a full-time caretaker to my grandmother. She absolutely loved my homemade spaghetti I made the other day. She's a meat and tater kind of eater, so cooking meals centered around meat and taters has been pretty easy thus far. She's got a light appetite, but she couldn't resist going back a third time for spaghetti. LOL!! She really grooves on my homemade blueberry pancakes, so I make a stack for her every morning, with a cup of my coffee to go with. I make a whole bunch of pancakes the night before, freeze them overnight and just nuke them in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds.

I've been logging on so ya know I'm still around.

:)

Very similar to our campsites except yours is obviously in much more beautiful settings.

Ours are often just an old field that sometime in the past a farmer did not have a use for anymore or some waste land near the coast which has been turned into a camp site.

Also popular are caravan campsites some that you can actual tow your small caravan to but others are permanent caravans all fully plumbed and have electricity TV etc. A friend of mine from work is going to one of those later this year with his wife and son and daughter in law and their 2 children for a week. As far as I know there will be an area for chilren, probably swimming pool and a social club.
