President Bush signed a $70 billion tax-cut package, and honored the 2006 United States Winter Olympic and Paralympics Teams, both events being held on the South Lawn at the White House.
Defense Secretary Rumsfeld testified before the Senate Appropriations Committee. Some details here; note bias in article title.
There are some late photos from last evening's dinner that the president and first lady hosted for Australia's Prime Minister, John Howard, and his wife, Janette.

Hi, Our daughter and I went to MS yesterday for my brother's funeral. It was hard to be there. The service was short just like his kids wanted. He was buried at the end of his farm runway where he wanted to be. It was a special place. A company in my hometown donated enough fencing to go around it. We all just about lost it when the flag was folded and presented to his older daughter who is about 8 years younger than I.
I had a terrible headache since yesterday morning when we left. I checked my blood pressure this morning and it was 166/113. No wonder my head hurt! It was a difficult trip. This country lost a hero when he died Sunday afternoon.
