Oh the irony! The humor! The humanity of it all! LOL
You wrote
...only if one considers the nomination of nothing but non-conservatives since Reagan "victory after victory" for those who believe that consrvative values are the only thing that will preserve our nation.
And then your tagline reads
(Hey George! Read OUR lips: Build the wall!)
LOL! Typical of so many comments on here regarding immigration! You don't really care or you would know that Reagan himself gave
AMNESTY to
3 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN 1986!And that period is when the large influx of immigrants started again.
So, what's your agenda?
To: canuck_conservative
It continues to amaze me that anyone suggests the mass deportation of eleven million workers. The amount of funding and manpower it would take to perform such a feat, not to mention the economic impact of so many jobs suddenly vacated in a short period of time, are staggering.
What the discourse on the immigration issue utterly fails to address is the underlying economic problems of which illegal immigration is only a symptom: Despite the passage of various Free Trade agreements with Central and South America, the United States still tends to make economic decisions based on the assumption that our economy is as insular and protected from the market woes of neighboring countries as it was in the mid to late 20th century.
In order to remove the motivation for undocumented workers to cross the border (which is very often a traumatic process, due to the brutality of the "smugglers" that a potential immigrant must often rely upon) we must learn to make decisions about economic policy with regard to the effect it will have on neighboring countries. We must learn to encourage our economic allies to support fair wages and labor laws, while penalizing those trading partners who allow slave-wage conditions to exist in their borders. The problem is not that Mexico does not have jobs for it's people, but that it's jobs pay so poorly that malnutrition is a national health crisis.
Sure, we can send troops to the border. But for how long? How much effort would be needed to stop the miniature exodus that is taking place in the modern day? A fence will only keep immigrant smugglers out until they come up with the tools to circumvent it. Take steps to encourage the growth of the Mexican economy, the Mexican median wage, and the Mexican currency, and all those "illegals" will happily return to their homeland, and the families many of them left behind.

These people are not serious about immigration, they aren't serious about supporting the GOP or conservative ideals. I tend to ignore their comments anymore. Unless I find them humorous like the one above. LOL

How simple can it be.
Close The Border Now, then deal with those who are here.

No, but the Party will reap that which it sews.

I don't hate President Bush. I love my country and don't want it to be Marxico North. I have not and will not call for his impeachment, but I sure as hell will not defend him.

That is the RIGHT approach and the one that the House is going to force on the Senate, if and only if we all keep pushing. But the politics of this are not so simple for the Prez (for example, he does not want to stir up anti-americanism in Mexico ahead of the elections and allow a marxist, Chavez ally victory there. And he has to at least partially appease both the agri-business lobby and his conservative base at home - not easy). And having to deal with the idiot Senate is next to impossible.

"This establishes an interesting precedent. It appears that we are no longer a nation bound by the rule of law. The logical conclusion is that we are now free to ignore any statute/code with which we disagree."
This is exactly what the President of the United States told us on national TV, with respect to illegals........now the question is how long until law abiding citizens, decide that it also applies to them.

The logical conclusion is that we are now free to ignore any statute/code with which we disagree. Your logic starts with a false premise. Hence your erroneous conclusion.
But hey, if you believe this BS that you post, have a nice next twenty years in Leavenworth.

Right now, this very day, Bush needs to send the Guard, troops, Boy Scouts and anyone else he can find to take control of our southern border. A trip to capital hill this afternoon and a good butt chewing to the congressional critters about getting the Mexicans out of our country NOW would add a few + credits to his score as president.

Rush said the House is run by conservatives and the Senate is filled with RINOs. We should if nothing else, hold onto the House. I can gladly do without the Senate and its crew of moderate and liberal pretenders. If we're going to get serious, its time to begin protecting our borders first.

As is usually the case, it would be so much better if Congress did nothing at all rather than do what they are about to do.

No one here "hates" President Bush. There are a lot of us who disagree with his domestic policies. Do you understand the word "disagree"?

America first. Close the borders!

[ Get real, bashing Bush doesn't take much intelligence that's why so many democrats and others do it so often. And if it continues the the dam-O-crats will be laughing all the way to the house majority leader Nancy Pelosi. ]
WRONG.. The more the democrats bash Bush the more "conservatives" close ranks to support Bush in passing legislation NO DEMOCRAT president could get passed.. Quite brilliant really..
To the extent normalizing illegal and legal aliens adds to the democrat voting base.. Will they VOTE?.. Even the dead vote in the democrat party.. The question should be How long HAVE they been voteing already.. not if..
Why would a republicrat President be FOR increasing the ranks of the democrat voting base?.. The answer(s) could be cut through the political haze.. I say could, because the democrats still attack Bush, and some of Bushs base is still stuck on stupid.. less and less as the day goes on though.. The boy is getting EXPOSED... He's been a RINO from day one.. "I'm a Unite'er not a Divide'er- Bush"... He's been uniteing with democrats from day one..
