Ford Keeps Pro-Homosexual Employment Policy

Ford Keeps Pro-Homosexual Employment Policy Friday, May 12, 2006 Written By Sam Kastensmidt

This week, Ford Motor Company hosted its annual shareholders meeting -- plagued by a nationwide pro-family boycott, declining U.S. sales, and a stock price that has fallen over ten percent since April 1.

At this year's meeting, stockholders were asked to vote on whether to repeal a section of the company's non-discrimination clause, which extends special privileges to various deviant sexual orientations and homosexual partnerships.

A Strong Start Encourages Pro-Family Leaders

While the measure failed to pass, many pro-family conservatives are thrilled with the positive strides that have been made in the battle to repeal several pro-homosexual policies embraced by Ford Motor Company executives in recent years.

At the start of the meeting, William Ford, Jr., the corporation's chairman of the board, ignored concerns over the recent boycott of Ford products that has been championed by the Center for Reclaiming America for Christ, American Family Association, and seventeen other pro-family organizations. In fact, he urged shareholders to vote against the measure to repeal the policies, despite having to admit that "the exception to our worldwide success is our North American automotive operations."

The proposed measure received five percent of the votes -- a sizeable number considering that the chairman urged opposition to it. More importantly, the measure received five times the number of votes necessary to be brought up again at next year's meeting. This gives values-oriented organizations more time to mount effective campaigns.

Pro-Family Voices Speak Up at the Meeting

Ford shareholder Tom Strobhar, a pro-family activist from Ohio, explained why he supported the resolution. "Ford is paying domestic partner benefits while cutting retirement benefits. Our company is closing plants while building gay and lesbian centers," he explained. "These organizations use [our money] to aggressively promote same-sex marriage. In addition, we advertise in publications whose primary focus is gay sex."

"These policies have come about in the last few years ... [and have] spit in the eye of conservative religious groups," Strobhar continued. "During that time we've lost over $50 billion in market value, and J.P. Morgan predicts there's a 43 percent chance of bankruptcy. It is a simple fact that some people are refusing to buy our products because of [the pro-homosexual] policies."

The Battle Continues

Already, the Center has gathered over 52,000 commitments from people vowing to support a nationwide boycott of Ford products for one year (to be reevaluated in March 2007). Dr. Gary Cass, executive director of the Center, regretfully endorsed the boycott after Ford refused to withdraw funding from organizations that lobby for same-sex "marriage." In a press release, Cass stated, "We must put the well-being of our children ahead of Ford Motor Company's bottom line."

Don Wildmon, chairman of AFA, announced, "The mere fact that five percent voted for this proposal came as a shock. I think it sends a loud message, and we're very grateful that we got that five percent and that this issue can come back up again next year. We have a lot of time to work on it."

What the hell's wrong with the Ford Motor Co. and this generation of the Ford family? Let's boycott degeneracy. Also, why haven't they come out with a diesel Ford Focus?

Why do you single out Ford?

How about (as the other poster mentioned) GMC? Toyota? Daimler Chrysler? Nissan? Kia? Hyundai? and so on.

FIND a major public corporation doing business in the US that can withstand the EEOC issues of having a policy contrary to the one Ford follows. THEN we can have a discussion.

The real issue is public policy, special interest group advocacy/power, and activist judges. I don;t see Ford Motor Company as THE problem here.

Hi All-

So what kind of cars does this Center for Reclaiming America for Christ organization suggest we purchase? Here all this time I thought the gay cars were the 4-cylinder versions of popular performance vehicles except with downsized wheels and automatic transmission selected.

Ford Motor brands' giveback offers to HRC, GLAAD (Homosexual "rights" organizations)

Ford Motor Co. began introducing its brands Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover to the gay market in a series of one roughly every six months, starting in January 2003. (Ford has not yet brought its own brand name out, and as yet there is no indication when it will.)

Building on a new sponsorship of the Human Rights Campaign, Jaguar began an annual giveback purchase offer program with $1,000 donations going to HRC for a purchase or lease. Less than a year later, Volvo followed with $500 donations; a few months thereafter, Land Rover jumped in at $1,000 a sale. Last year, the brands switched the donations for Volvo and Land Rover to GLAAD, while Volvo remained with HRC.

Sounds like Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rovers - all FORD owned, have a sizable padded price to offer these "donations" to the Homosexual "agenda" for each car sold...

If G.W. has the authority to override/relax EPA's diesel emission rules, there's one thing he could do to instantly improve the average MPG of vehicles. Or least offer that as an option for consumers.

One of the things the Euro's do right is allow and encourage diesels. I believe 60% of their cars are diesel, and the new ones are almost indistinguishable from gas, except they get much better MPG. Audi has a turbo-diesel race car that just won the 12 Hours at Sebring. It seems nobody is willing to do anything until California's diesel requirements go into effect next year. If G.W. can do anything to advance it a year sooner, so much the better. Anyway, diesels get better MPG than hybrids on the freeway. My next vehicle will be a turbo-diesel that can run on biodiesel, no more gas. In a pinch, I can always fill up at Walmart.

Why not be completely honest and report that the buyer has to turn in a coupon, and the total donations are limited to $30,000? You make it sound like they've added $1k to the price of every vehicle and it all goes to this purpose, when in fact you can opt out of having your money go to that cause....

Oh right, that would expose the boycott for the shameless publicity stunt it is....

So about 5,000 cars a year if 10% would have bought a Ford this year.

I posted the article - and posted a link to the article which didn't mention any "coupons" or $30K limit.

Where is YOUR link, describing the "coupon" and $30K Limit?
How does a non-gay buyer KNOW he can "opt out" of having part of his purchase price go to a homosexual activist group?

What other groups are afforded the same $1000K/$500 "gift" from Ford?

What is shameless about ANY group electing to boycott ANY business with practices they object to?
This is still a free country -- isn't it?
Folks STILL have the right to decide for ANY reason - where to do business don't they?

What is shameless is an organization of activists objecting to folks who wish NOT to help finance activities they object to.

Sounds like your ox was gored.....

The bit about the coupon is clearly visible on the ad linked from AFA's boycottford.com website. In small print at the bottom, it states: "*In order to be eligible for this promotion, all Jaguar/GLAAD-coupons must be completely filled out and accompanied by a photocopy of a valid lease or purchase agreement. Individual donations of $500 for any new, previously untitled X-TYPE, S-TYPE, or $500 for any Select Edition Jaguar or $1,000 for any new, previously untitled XJ or XK will be made for each valid lease or purchase, with accompanying Jaguar/GLAAD-coupon. The maximum Jaguar GLAAD donation for this limited time offer is $30,000. The promotion begins on January 1,2005, and ends on December 31, 2005. All eligible loans or purchases must be made on or between these dates." It is NOT a program a non-gay buyer has to "opt out" of. It is a program a buyer has to "opt in" to. The reason this is shameless, IMO, is that AFA, per their normal mode of operation, is using half-truths and even lies to accomplish their goal. I expect more than that from a "christian" organization. And my ox was not gored - I am not in any way employed by or working for Ford Motor. I'm just a stickler for the facts.
