My first thought upon reading this is that they need more of these automatic recognition cameras to further cut down on crime. The second thought is wondering if someone will someday stand up and go, "Look, you stupid fools, STOP STEALING CARS!"
Not going to hold my breath.

Their reasoning is not to be believed. More blacks are arrested therefore they are being targeted, it isn't because more blacks are committing crimes!
I suppose the cameras can tell when someone is black and send the police after them, right?
They call this unfairly targeting! Lefties are not to be believed, a bigger head in the sand attitude is hard to imagine.

Although ANPR technology is impartial, the disproportionate number of blacks being arrested has prompted the Met to investigate. Doesn't that make sense? Next will come the study and the commission.

The camera is racist. Product of instututional racism. All whites are racist and blacks don't produce cameras.
Race-norming is needed. 95% of black offenders must be discarded so that the proportion of black/white offense will be politically correct.
