"Picture Pelosi as SOOH. That should scare everyone."
Yep, it SHOULD scare the Republicans in the Senate to pass a bill to fence the border, because that's what it's going to take to bring the Republican base home.
But WILL IT?
If it doesn't, the Republican politicians have decided that they'd rather have Speaker Pelosi than a border fence.

Not since 1964 has a Democrat won the White House on a liberal platform I don't know why the GOP thinks that it will do any better with a liberal agenda.

The GOP's spending and open-borders/amnesty policies have left us far less to fear from the Dims.
Since Bush is now lame-duck, the House and Senate GOP need to embrace the full conservative agenda. Roll back spending sharply, extend the tax cuts, close the border.
They still have time to win big and bring conservatives home to the party.
We conservatives need to make sure they're more afraid of us than they are of Rove and the GOP's eastern liberal establishment.

Only a few, like DeLay, tried to speak up, and the Democrats managed to destroy him...Delay, like Cunningham destroyed themselves.

The difference was, the democrats were fear mongering policy and actual programs that the republicans had and the dems hated. The dems are not offering anything at all but investigations.
That said, I believe we fear too much. We could actually pick up seats in the senate in Maryland and NJ. Unlike some, I do not consider flushing a RINO in RI as a terrible thing.
The house is more problematic...when one looks to individual seats, we win a few and perhaps lose a few more but nowhere like the 15 the dems need to create mischief.
Bush could give us and him a 5-10 pt boost in a week simply by supporting real border enforcement and vetoing a few pork laden bills.

I think were most likely to hold seats in the house. They seem a bit more tuned in to the people who elected them. There's a lesson for all of govt in that.
