You are really afraid for people to see this movie, aren't you?

Not at all. I watch that stuff from time to time. I never equate it with reality though, do you?

Do I believe this as good a depiction as can possibly be made, while taking minimal artistic license that is unavoidable in a project such as this? All reviews would seem to indicate it.

Despite your arrpgant condescension toward others who have seen or will see it, I will see it tonight.

I don't know if you have noticed, but no one so far has said, "By golly, eskimo, you are right! Thanks for enlightening me."

That is because your arguments are very poor.

If, as I suspect, enlightened people don't wish to watch the Hollywood fantasy, then all is as I expect it should be.

That is because your arguments are very poor.

Not at all. I merely indicated that it was Hollywood fiction. As poor an argument as you deem it, no one seems to dispute that fact.

But for once, there can be no complaints about diversity, about male dominance, about "unbalanced" portrayals of foreign terrorists or any of the left's other pet causes, because what the film shows is exactly what happened.

Of course, the DU crowd can take refuge in the claim that what really happened is some version of their conspiracy-theory moonbattery, but this is hardly persuasive even to other leftists.

A lot of people have said that talking on cell phones at 2 to 3 miles up and going over 400 MPH is not going to happen.

The terrorists reduced altitude (apparently because they were navigating by sight of landmarks) after their takeover.

It's needed....this movie is needed!!!

I went today, by myself.

I wasn't the only one crying when the movie was over, and I saw a lady as I came out who was sitting on a bench, her eyes red. It's been SO LONG since I've SEEN anyone visibly affected by anything related to 9.11 that I wanted to hug her and tell her we NEED to feel this, to remember. But her husband came up, and they left.

Well, I guess that would explain that especially if the nearest towers were on top of the mountain. But that would still only allow a minute or two of access as they approached the mountain.

"Hell, yes I'm staying home on election day."

As a citizen and patriot, I will be doing my duty and voting.

If we don't, the people who *dont* believe in America will run this country. I dont want to see that happen.

I worried about this being some Hollywood fantasy before I saw it. While watching it I was more than pleasantly surprised at all the many, MANY opportunities they had to push the viewers buttons, and slip in some deviating agenda, which WERE NOT TAKEN.

I cannot recall seeing any production that made a more honest effort. Ever.

You, sir, are a troll, and your posting history reminds me of nothing more than the "Drive by Media". All one or two line sound bites, intended to provoke a reaction.

>>A lot of people have said that talking on cell phones at 2 to 3 miles up and going over 400 MPH is not going to happen. I know several who are going to try it the next opportunity they get. I called my phone company and they said to definitely not count on it.

I just saw United 93.

Before you go out parading your ignorance any further, the passengers were calling on airphones, which were built into the planes. Have you never seen them?

If Stone does that, he is likely to wish he hadn't.

It's not melodrama. What struck me was the depiction of the confusion. In that respect it was like Pearl Harbour. No film has got that right yet.

They were using phones IN the planes, plus their own cell phones.

Just how far does your denial and/or stupidity extend? Do you think the plane did NOT go down after being hijacked by Muslims? That is was not part of a Muslim terrorist plot?

If not, who do you blame it on? The Jews? Bush? Who?

Try to have the guts to answer.

Yes, he/she is. If it had any courage, it would come out in the open on this forum to explain whatever crackpot theory it holds (the Jews did it, it was a Bush/Rove conspiracy, etc).

And thus be booted off FR.

Leftists are mad because a stark, unadorned relating of the truth completely destroys the credibility of the delusions they hold and continuously desire to foist on everyone else.

Well said. The producers of the film played it exactly right by leaving it stark and unadorned. Doing so has made it impervious to denunciation or dismissal by the left's cultural gatekeepers as "propaganda" or "jingoism". The lefties are in a snit because they know they've been outfoxed.
