My sympathies to your girlfriend and her family.
I've been wishy washy about seeing the movie, mainly because I know it's going to be emotional and there's really no way to "steel" yourself against it in preparation. However, knowing that the families of those on United 93 and your girlfriend have seen it...it's almost like I need to honor those who perished and those who have been left behind.
Q: How many co-religionists of Mohammad Atta have been given green cards since 9-11?
You're right .. I don't
With all the threads about the border and the illegals to post on .. you have to make this movie about those issues
I saw it last night with my husband and 15 year old son.
I thought it was better than flight 93 by A&E.
I cried, then got very angry.
I will also buy the DVD when it comes out.
My kids were in school on 9/11. We were stationed at Fort Gordon, Ga and they are very aware of the facts. They also understand the difference in Hollywood and reality. Of course after we see it I plan on talking about it to them. They need to understand why their dad may have to go fight. I don't want them to be selfish like a few others who say their loved-one shouldn't have to go but others should. Some sacrifices are necessary.
No SOB ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor, dumb SOB die for his country.

Appreciate the comments and I will pass them onto her...she wears a steel bracelet made from one of the towers to this day with his name engraved on it. She gave the full blessings of the film and said if for just 90 minutes people should go see the film to remember everyone murdered that day.
The word is fictitious. The movie is not. However, you can continue to agitate. You have an agenda. Why don't you say why you won't see the film?
All reporting, historical narrative, etc. is "fictitious". Unless you experience something first-hand, there is no representation that is "true".
The movie is an attempt at a realistic retelling of what happened on that day or non-fiction. What would you call it?
That's the reason I posted the article.
Unless those passengers could have wrested control of the plane from the hijackers, and then landed the plane safely, those folks were doomed. The loss of their lives should mean something more than hijacked passengers should no longer acquiesce to the demands of hijackers.
I can't see any other reason for making such a fuss about Flight 93. All the other issues about our open borders have been there for years, but they have had no effect upon our leaders. If our leaders are not serious about national security, let's stop playing pretend.
Hopefully they will realize that your patriotism is born of a sense of duty to our republic and not directed from Hollywood. God keep you and yours safe.

I have a very old friend who said to me - "I hated that man from time to time but mostly I just loved the SOB".
Based on what we know, is it not likely that events unfolded as depicted in the movie to a certain degree?
I like to think my family has done our fair share. Both my dad and grandfather served. Out of my six brothers and sisters, five of us served.
All reporting, historical narrative, etc. is "fictitious".
No the proper word is as I stated, look it up.
Bassed on the above it seems you must make a decission, either it is or it is not.
True; and to what degree is still unknown.
Okay, fine. So are you afraid of movies?
We may not know everything that happened on that flight, but many of the passengers were on their cell phones talking with loved ones--for the last time--and they were telling them what was going on.
Only the syphilitic brain of a liberal would try to deny that evidence.
Fearing a fantasy is irrational as is equating a fantasy to reality.
A lot of people have said that talking on cell phones at 2 to 3 miles up and going over 400 MPH is not going to happen. I know several who are going to try it the next opportunity they get. I called my phone company and they said to definitely not count on it.
I heard an interview with the captain's widow, who has listened to the tapes and seen the evidence. She says the movie is 95% accurate. That's good enough for me.
There are a lot of people who FEEL the same way but their FEELINGS have no basis in fact.
>> Are you going to caution the kids that this is just a factitious Hollywood account? Just wondering.<<
You are really afraid for people to see this movie, aren't you?
