"Does anyone really want to see an openly biased, partisan film about 9/11?"
"I wanted to see the one where the leftists are tarred, feathered and deported, the jihadis are strung up on lamp-posts, mecca and iran are nuked and and al aksa is torn down and shipped across the border to Jordan followed by 3.5 million arabs...."
I wanted to see one, where the folks back in camel territory finally get it.
They get that if you take out a couple of our buildings, we CONQUOR two of your countries.
They get that, with the mother of all armies totally missing in action, the balance of power has now shifted in Israel's favor.
They get that if Iran even spits,we will carve it up and give it away to its neighbors.
You can bet Warner Bros won't green light that project.
But, it's Hollywood fiction!
I took my 83 yr.old dad....
..next time my husband will go with me.
It's needed....this movie is needed!!!
Have you even read any of the reviews or posts from those of us here at FR????????
The families of this flight have signed off on this movie...
..they know the director tried his level best to get it right.
You're either joking or extremely misinformed.
Let me translate:
Leftists are mad because a stark, unadorned relating of the truth completely destroys the credibility of the delusions they hold and continuously desire to foist on everyone else.
I'm going to vote too. I have this crazy dream though that when I go to vote, the most conservative candidate is in the Communist Party. What a nightmare.
Do you not remember how hard it was to wrest control from the cold, dead hands of the Democrats? We did not have a Transition Team being briefed because of Algore's attempt to steal Florida electors. For God's sake! Even the "W"s were peeled off computer keyboards!
And you would put this country through that again?
Think of your Grandchildren!
I say that because it is true. Do you not believe this thing was scripted in Hollywood?
Well, yes. Many of these liberal critics want only those films made that reinforce their own interpretation of those events, notably that American foreign policy was to blame and that they proved Bush inadequate to office. Art that does not serve their political biases is, to them, irrelevant.
That sort of grim insistence on forcing the world to fit a strict political mold is one of the worst intellectual frauds of the 20th century. The events are perfectly straightforward in and of themselves - Islamist extremists took over three airliners and murdered 3000 people for the purposes of political demonstration. That this must mean something else or be seen in another context in which there are no real murderers or victims is the product of a system of thought so divorced from the real world that it constitutes nothing more than a simple preference for delusion.
A fellow who thinks he's a horse is rightfully considered a candidate for the rubber room, but his political equivalent is considered a proponent of Critical Thinking and advanced intellectual grasp, a candidate for a university chair. That is one reason the university chair and the rubber room have come to resemble one another so closely.
...you're one of those we've been talking about on this thread.
I'll save my breath & time for someone who has seen the movie or wants to see the movie.
Saw it last night...give it 4 out 5 stars. It was missing some key elements of the day that if Paul would have taken 10 mins more and added it to the film it would have made it that much more intense. I.E. possibly various snippets of actual phone conversations with the families back at home like the A&E version had...that made the movie that much more effective imo for A&E.
Also...a bit more on what was happening in D.C. as word came that United 93 was headed towards there....the panic on the ground and the evacuation of our government.
Other than that...a brilliant film that NEEDS to be seen...if not for just viewing that absolutely breathtaking last 4 minutes.
I also appreciate the fact that 60% of the people used in the film from FAA to control towers to NORAD are the actual people playing themselves in the film.
Good going .. you some how managed to make a thread about United93 into a border thread
Sorry no; I don;t think you do. Are you trying to tell us that this thing is not Hollywood fiction?
By the way...I went with my girlfriend who lost her uncle in tower 1 that day...he was on the 103rd floor and was believed to have been killed on impact. He never got that final phone call to relatives like United 93...all that was ever found of him was a femur bone and his forearm...oh and his check book was found about 4 miles away in perfect condition as it had blew in the air that far after impact.
She saw it with me and was moved...angered...and said "I needed to see this again...because it was all a blur that day...now I have the other view of it from what everyone else was seeing and going through...people can't forget what happened to us."
She had just spent 10 days with him and his family just 2 weeks before at Disney World for a long vacation....and then...he was gone...gone because of scumbag muslim terrorists.
We're in Iraq because of it's strategic position against Iran, Syria and others. Whatever the reason GW used to get us into Iraq, it was brilliant. We're there, we're positioned, and we can respond to anything quickly, efficiently and decisively.
I plan on seeing it this weekend. I'm also taking my kids to see it. Everyone needs to remember what happened that day.
Yes, but the interesting thing is that it is no more political than an exact representation of flight 93 would be. There is no embellishment. The truth of 93 is so politically damaging to the left, and they detest that they couldn't change the movie to a lie.
Got a mouse in your pocket? Some of us knew and waited and talked about it amongst ourselves but no one listened because we were all "paranoid" "tin-foil wearing" "spam eating" "cave dwelling" "militia wackos".
There are things afoot now that will effect you on an even more personal level but most people wont listen because those of us talking about these things are "paranoid" "tin-foil wearing" "spam eating" "cave dwelling" "militia wackos".
It seems to me that you don't approve. I merely tried to connect the dots. If you don't appreciate the connection, check out Shelby Steele, White Guilt and the Western Past (Why is America so delicate with the enemy?) and 'Other than Mexican' apprehensions skyrocket.
If the fate of United 93 can do something more than to make folks appreciate the fact that those civilians were the only successful defense our country had on that day, and that the first duty of government is to provide for the common defense, then the loss of their lives will have actually accomplished something.
Are you going to caution the kids that this is just a factitious Hollywood account? Just wondering.
