I did not call Mr. Rasmussen a douche bag. He's probably a fine gentleman as you say. I'm just so sick of these endless polls that have absolutely no meaning. You'd think they were the mother's milk of our future.
Don't take the world serious.

As soon as everyone comes to the realization that 'polling' is the weapon of the DMSM, the better off we will all feel.

I will never believe that targeting 1000 or so people is an accurate assessment of the whole country. This is going to continue to escalate right up to November.

The 'pollsters' know the questions to ask, what day to do a poll, what time of the day and where to ask those questions. If anyone wants to panic or throw a party based on that premise, go ahead, but I remember past years when pollsters looked like fools and it is the same now.

How many times have the the polls been compared to the actual outcome and what were the percentages of them being accurate?

They stay in business because the public forgets what a lousy track record they have.

Actually you're wrong, the major national polls are quite accurate. The national polls have a plus or minus 3 percentage points statistical margin of error and in the 2004 presidential election, of 14 major national polls only one was outside the margin of error with the actual results of the election. Interestingly the poll that was outside the margin of error was Newsweek which underestimated Kerry's total while getting Bush's total exactly right.
If you'd like to check the results for yourself, go to this web address:
http://www.pollingreport.com/2004.htm#Pollster
There is NO, repeat NO national politician who doesn't use a polling firm.
