AAR, like communism, failed because it just wasn't done properly./sarc

They will go back to the drawing board again and again looking for some type of formula that they think the "uneducated masses" will accept.

I would say this is big news. How on earth could AA not make it in the biggest liberal city in America?

Because their strength of signal is garbage. I live less than 20 miles from Manhattan and it is hit or miss whether I can even pick up reception.

Reading a DU poster “liberalinGeorgia2005” claims ratings for Randi Rhodes is higher on a radio station WLIB/1190 AM then Sean Hannity among men between 25 and 54?

He states:

Randi Rhodes.. 3.3
Sean Hannity.. 3.0

Another thing that is odd. Why in San Diego, a conservative city have good ratings and New York a liberal city had poor ratings?

Are conservatives tuning in to listen to what the other side has to say? Is that all they are getting?

Does it come in ‘ok’ in Manhattan? Manhattan is where most of the libs live.

"Are conservatives tuning in to listen to what the other side has to say?"

It's called opposition research.

"Is that all they are getting?"

Libs have the msm and NPR -- both of which do a better job than Err America. Why should *they* listen?

I keep forgetting about NPR. Good point.

One of those nagging questions I have had for years... Why does the general public have to pay for NPR? Why do I have to pay taxes and NPR doesn't?

Honestly , I'm not sure. I don't make a point to listen to it that much, though if I'm in a masochistic mood, I'll turn that b!tch Randi Rhodes on and get annoyed.

their ratings went from 1.6 to 1.0 in NYC, a loss of 1/3 of their audience

That's actually 37.5% of their audience, more than a third. Not busting on your math, just upping the gloat power of them going in the toilet.

Corrected reports show a .08 audience share for that station. Drudge had it wrong.

"Update: Confirmed -- WLIB falls to an overall 0.8 from 1.4. This is ugly."

“To be clear, Air America will not go silent on the New York City airwaves. We do not, however, comment on hypothetical speculation,” said an AAR spokesperson.

Which is what I'd call a statement of intent, but not one of fact :D

When AA went off the air here in Charleston SC the BWIC ( Bed Wetter In Charge ) of AA said he hoped to find a new home soon. That was back in September. There's no sign of them coming back. LOL.

Air America is a perfect example of why Democrat/liberal economic and business models don't work in real life. Their Arbitrons demonstrate that, at least nationally, they just don't have a viable market. But rather than accept reality (Arbitron ratings) and change/scale back their business model, they keep throwing money down the same hole.

"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children,
And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous."
- Proverbs 13:22

"Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth,
who will entrust the true riches to you?"
- Luke 16:11

I just had to stop by the DUmp. Check out this seriously deluded post:

Rush is declining, Franken is rising. This may or may not be a minor set-back, but we'll still hear them in New York. There is victory.

Holy hoo. Wonder what meds that DUmmy's on?
