When patriotism was popular, he recorded "Let's Roll"... when Bush-bashing is in vogue, he bashes Bush. He blows with the wind...

President Bush was reelected with the most votes cast for him in US History.
Meanwhile the maggot Young has filled his pockets with gold by perpetuating a drug culture and thereby destroying many thousands of lives.
Go speak with the deranged lunatic dope addicts that dwell under bridges... I bet they are all big maggot Young fans.

He's an arrogant POS. As a kid in St. Louis I went to see him give a concert. He came out and started playing some song nobody ever heard of. After the song was over someone in the audience screamed out ''Southern Man''. He immediately became outraged. I guess he was angry that somebody dared to yell out a request. Then he jumped up and left the stage..... He never came back. After one song!! I was so mad, and knew, even back then that the fame had gone to his head........

No skin off my back. How many records will this really sell? Who cares and why are we worried about this singer who is not even popular.

That decrepit old hippie isn't "Living with War." He's cooling his heels in Canada.
The troops....they're "living with war." The Iraqis and Afghans are "living with war." We civilians over here are "living with war."
What a pompous ass Neil Young is.

Calculated marketing decision.
They are banking on the rabid nuttiness of the Bush haters to buy the record to make a statement.
Probably most won`t even listen to it.
He will be laughing to the bank at the fools buying it.

To: LeoWindhorse
Young should never have been allowed to record this song by himself. These kind of unilateral, illegal, cowboy antics have no place in our modern society. He should have been required to get the permission of Crosby, Stills, and Nash first.

Ive always liked Neil Young. At least he isnt Pop
Sadly his view of the world seems somewhat out of line with my own in recent years.
A saw him a couple years back and the show rocked.
The pretenders opened for him and Neil and Chrissy Hynde did an absolutely fantastic version of "all along the watchtower".
Sadly Chrissy couldn't keep her yap shut ant started spewing her political commentary during the show, tainting an otherwise enjoyable summer evening

Have you ever noticed that these people only write anti-war songs when the US is at war? If two countries in Africa go at it and kill 50,000 people, you never hear a word.

Fact: Neil is a really good musician. No kidding saw him live at the Embarcadaro San Diego '94. (boaties were present)
Fact: Neil's believes he has a legitimate point.
Fact: Neil doesn't.
Fact: No one cares about Neil Young's career.
Fact: He's so much better at heroin overdose songs.

two countries in Africa go at it and kill 50,000 people, you never hear a word you need to add some zeros to that. two countries in Africa go and kill 500,000 and you never hear anything. you never hear from the black caucus either. the liberal machine only gets involved when they can acquire funding or control through election.

The interesting thing about this is that by making an anti-war, anti-Bush album, Neil Young is suddenly the topic of major news headlines. My question: when was the last time a new Neil Young album was headline news anywhere, even in Rolling Stone?
The answer to that will tell you an awful lot about both Neil's motivations and those of the media.

You have to hand it to Neil, his timing is spot on. Let's write an anti-war, anti-Bush album when Bush has two years left on his watch. Brave, and cutting edge. Hey Neil, here in America we respond when we are attacked. If you don't like it go back to Canada and pay their taxes with your millions. Shoosh. Nothing worse than a cheap socialist.

His most famous song may be "The needle and the damage done".
He has been consistantly anti-war since viet-nam, nothing new here......
He may be wrong, but he's always been a brilliant song-writer and lousy singer, LOL!
