The first sentence makes most people interested in history dismiss the article. It's too bad the media is so obsessed over this fiction novel as this is quite an interesting find.

Thanks for posting this article.

So far, their claims seem a bit outrageous as they offer no validation nor give any explanation as to the 'how' of their ability to so precisely date this find.

The first bodies of the Knights Templar, the mysterious religious order at the heart of The Da Vinci Code, have been found by archaeologists

How convenient. Just in time for the motion picture release.

Boy is Sony Pictures going to be loving these guys. Heck, they even managed to work in a "Holy Grail" reference into their quote.

One might even think the timing of this was planned?...

I'm amazed at the amount of people who rather believe the DaVinci Code rather than the Bible. Will the DaVinci Code still be a bestseller a thousand years from now?

"British historian Tom Asbridge yesterday hailed the find as the first provable example of actual Knights Templar."

Is someone questioning the actual existence of Knights Templar? I don't "get" this statement at all. The first known instance of my own surname appears in the Templar Inquisition of 1185. I wish I could say I had proved my line, uninterrupted, back to that point, but that doesn't change the earliest record of it.

You are correct. It takes more to believe something like the Da Vinci code than to belive in Jesus.

Will the DaVinci Code still be a bestseller a thousand years from now?

Will anyone be literate a thousand years from now?

If you think The DaVinci Code was funny, you should read "The Templar Legacy", it's out now and a real hoot! The author does make a point of telling the readers what parts of the book are real, and which are fiction. I liked his explanation of how the Templars got so rich and influential. When I finished it, I thought "hmmmm, how soon before this explanation becomes accepted as truth?". Thank goodness we have the real primary document to go to for truths.
