Yes it does. Just wondering if this turns out to be true, will the president of Duke be the next to be fired? I've never heard of a team's season being canceled because of the actions of three members. And what was the reason that the coach was fired?

Kimberly Guilfoyle is disgusting

I completely agree. She ought to be keel-hauled, covered with molasses and tied to the mast, where seagulls could come and peck her eyes out.

Uh oh! I just pulled a Ryan McFadyen. Good thing I am not a Duke student, or I would be out on my butt for that.

If this had been a black team (basketball team) and a white victim,, The candlelight vigils would be for the basketball team - not the girl.

Exactly....you get it...unfortunately some here on FR are already lighting the candles for this poor oppressed "working girl just trying to raise her little ones".

I knew I could not be alone in my thoughts about Kimberly Guilfoyle.

I doubt that I have ever been so quick to size up anyone in my life.

I have seen criminals with more honor and honesty.

Hopefully she will get nailed very soon in the grand tradition of F. Lee Bailey.

She is ugly and vicious and unethical to her very soul.

Kimberly Gilfoyle makes Hillary Clinton look like an angel.

Again, you're not aware of the latest developments.

The e-mail was taken out of context. The DA selectively disseminated that e-mail but not the other's sent in the minutes before and after. Taken together it's apparent that the team was referring to a movie they had watched together several days earlier. Other e-mails reference the music from that movie by Phil Collins, etc. The movie, American Psycho,
is about a man that is killing and he doesn't know if he's dreaming or if he's actually been commiting murders. The boys were upset because they had high hopes for the show and instead the got a fall-down drunk that barely moved and then tried to steal their money - from their perspective. They had also been drinking.. you have to factor that into the e-mail. But, it was totally taken out of context and the Media made it out to be a fantasy. Ridiculous.

Oak, I think you are being too charitable to this unethical prosecutor. From the time line you have given, it sounds as though he cnacelled his appearances about the time the photos showed up showing the drunken slut was already beat up when she got there. That makes his story fall apart.

<< Kobe's accuser was immediately subjected to the "nuts and sluts" defense .... >>

"Subjected to?"

A passing glance of the evidence in that matter would have revealed, even to Ray Charles, that Mr Bryant's accuser was in fact given to sexual abandon. By any other name, that is, a slut.

And a raving nut.

And Kimberly has no critical thinking skills..

Last night she says that this dancer's criminal record has nothing to do with this case. She said she is a single Mother raising two kids and working (you call that working!)
She said she finds the dancer totally believable.

In the very next segment they discuss the missing girl in Aruba and she says of a source: He's a convicted Drug-dealer, that's like Detective 101. Nothing he says is credible.

So, a convicted, Car-jacking stripper that tries to run over a policeman is credible?

This is what happens when people get jobs because of their face or their hair.

more detail:

/excerpt

Cheshire said the time-stamped photos have a 27-minute gap between when the two women stopped dancing and when the accuser was photographed outside the house. During that period, the dancers locked themselves in a bathroom and then went outside, he said.

/snip

He gave the following description of the photographs. In the first, the accuser is prone on the floor, her face in the carpet. The other photos show her on the floor, on all fours or on her back. The other dancer is on her feet for all the photos. The lacrosse players line the room, drinking out of beer cans and plastic cups, and one photo shows a player unconscious on the floor, his shorts pulled down and his underwear wet.

"The photographs show the accuser has bruises and cuts on her arms, legs and feet," Cheshire said. "These are visible at the very start of the dance."

The dance lasted less than four minutes, Cheshire said, when the second dancer stopped the performance after an offensive remark from a player.

There are no photos for the next 27 minutes. During this time, Cheshire said the women locked themselves in a bathroom while one of the captains tried to persuade them to continue the show. Some players accused the women of pocketing the $800 fee and not performing. The dancers then left the house, he said.

Cheshire said the next photographs show the accuser on the back porch, fumbling through her purse. One shows her smiling at the photographer. She is still in her negligee, which does not appear torn or damaged, Cheshire said.

The next photo, six minutes later, shows her passed out on her side on the back porch, he said.

Cheshire said the final photograph, taken three minutes later, shows a team captain helping the accuser into the other dancer's car.

"There was no rape in this house. It didn't happen," Cheshire said.

Wow, I only missed the news for about 48 hrs. Based on what you say, it appears the DA is already trying to influence the court of public opinion with that selective release, and we can expect where he/she will take the case. Thanks for the info.

One other little detail about the lovely and gracious Kimberly Gilfoyle: she is the ex-wife of San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom - he who flouted the law and allowed thousands of gay marriages, and who is now saying he will not comply with the anti-immigration law if it is passed.

Let's see how this plays out with the DNA tests and the photos. Neither side is squeaky clear. The woman has an unsavory past, but the Duke lacrosse team isn't as pure as the driven snow (or they wouldn't have hired the dancers).

I don't know how familiar you are with lacrosse, but it's a violent game and a number of lacrosse players can be animals - lots of cheap shots on the field. My son played four years in high school (he also wrestled and played football so he was into violence). At least one game a year was called early because of a fight and at least one player on his team had a serious injury every year - often the result of a cheap shot.

From my experience, women's lacrosse, however, is quite civil.

Anton,

You're probably right. He may be sitting in a dark room thinking how he's going to extricate himself from this mess he created. He has pushed this case so aggressively and gone so far out on a limb that I'm sure he'll try to charge them with some lesser charge. That would be a way for him to try to save face, it's not right.. He's up for reelection in a month and his constituency is black. There was a protest in front of that house TONIGHT.

His first choice will be to placate those people in Durham that have been whipped up into a frenzy by over 3 weeks of his constant DA and Media drumbeat of a horrific racially motivated gang-rape. The DA again got the media reaction by saying that e-mail showed the players were planning a murder. He added on the search warrant - conspiracy to commit murder, yet he WAS privy to the other exculpatory e-mails. The media reported it like the team had planned this murder and the e-mail revealed it. The DA used it as an excuse to enter the premises, search, and confiscate items.

If he really thought they had planned to kill and skin two strippers.. then he would have specifically noted on the search warrant to search for knives or butchering equipment. The search warrant said no such thing, it said to confiscate the computer, any hard drives, cameras, film, money, or racist literature.

Well, in 18 days of coverage that's the first time the N&O printed anything remotely like that.

Maybe they see where this case is going and could no longer justify crucifying the players daily. This morning's paper in BiG Letters across the TOP of the page - Team has swaggered for years

Note: Swaggering is not an offense in North Carolina

I think someone told Nifong that he has no immunity for defamatory statements to the press and that he was treading on thin ice. If some of the parents have the money to hire an attorney if he crossed a line, he would be ruined financially.

A young lady who had an active sex life as opposed to a prostitute....and you defend the prostitute...you and Ray Charles have indeed "seen the light".

There's a clause, it basicly makes it very hard to sue "City Hall" It's called sovereign immunity. I doubt he can be sued personally (you'd have to prove forethought and intentional malice), rather the municipality would be liable then you run into sovereign immunity.
