This is usually nothing or very little in the mainstream media about murdered Serbs.

Very little about murdered Albanians as well--and there were a lot more of them; not to mention how many are still missing seven years after the war.

Serbia returns remains of 52 ethnic Albanians to Kosovo

MERDARE, Serbia-Montenegro, March 31, 2006 (AFP) -

Serbia on Friday returned the remains of 52 ethnic Albanians killed during the 1998-1999 Kosovo war after their exhumation from a mass grave near Belgrade.

More than 200 members of victims' families were at the handover of the remains in Merdare, a village on the administrative border between Kosovo and the rest of Serbia.

They put flowers around forensic plastic sacks containing the remains, temporarily laid out in an improvised tent on the Kosovo side, while Serbian authorities and the province's UN representatives finalised the transfer.

About 800 ethnic Albanian civilians killed in Kosovo during the war were secretly transferred and buried in Serbia by the regime of late Yugoslav leader Slobodan Milosevic.

Following Milosevic's ouster by a popular uprising in October 2000, Belgrade authorities uncovered four mass graves in Serbia that have since been exhumed.

The remains delivered to Kosovo on Friday were mostly of people originally from southwestern Kosovo. They were the last to be exhumed from a mass grave at Batajnica, near Belgrade.

The remains of over 700 victims have been returned to Kosovo in 18 transfers between Serbia and the UN mission that has run Kosovo since the war.

"The remains of some 90 unidentified victims that have been exhumed are still in Serbia. The Serbian side promised to return them by June," said Arsim Gerxhalliu, Kosovo forensic expert.

The Red Cross says some 2,398 people, mostly ethnic Albanians, are still listed as missing from the war.

O.K. schmuck, I'll bite,. Give me a break down of the numbers who were dug up, who'd been murderd AND were civilians. A quick general number will do.

Fine thanks.

Hurry, hurry.

Message from President Bush: 10th Anniversary of the Massacre in Srebrenica; July 11th, 2005.

On July 11, we remember the tragic loss of lives in Srebrenica ten years ago. The mass murder of nearly eight thousand men and boys was Europe's worst massacre of civilians since World War II and a grim reminder that there are evil people who will kill the innocent without conscience or mercy. This horrific event remains a source of pain for people in the Balkan region and for all those who believe in freedom and the dignity of human life. I join all Americans in sending our deepest condolences and expressions of sympathy on this solemn occasion.

The United States supports the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the families of those who suffered as they commemorate this terrible chapter in history. We grieve for their loss and applaud the strength and courage of those who have returned to Srebrenica to rebuild their lives. We also remain committed to ensuring that those responsible for these crimes face justice, most notably Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic.

I appreciate all the individuals who are advancing reconciliation and a strong European future for Bosnia and Herzegovina. A modern and democratic Balkan region is an essential element in a Europe that is unified, free, and at peace. As we work to make the world more peaceful, we share a common faith in the value of freedom, the sanctity of life, and the triumph of good over evil.

May God bless the people of the Balkan region and the souls of the departed.

It is an indisputable fact that, ten years ago, Serb forces under the command of Ratko Mladic massacred almost 8000 Bosnians in the enclave of Srebrenica. This atrocity has been documented through thousands of testimonials by witnesses and relatives, through the discovery of numerous mass graves, and even through last year's admission by the government of the Republika Srpska that Serb forces conducted the killings. More recently, the appearance of the now famous videotape should remove the doubts from the mind of any reasonable person about the scope and brutality of this massacre. Unfortunately, a sense of denial has prevailed among large segments of the [Serb] population about war crimes committed by Serbs.

Yugoslavia broke off its relations with the USSR in June 1948 (see: Informbiro). Yugoslavia had never, ever, been a Soviet satellite. Tito's refusal(s) to submit to Stalin were the reason the Yugoslav Communist Party was kicked out of the Cominform, and some historians argue that, had Yugoslavia bordered the USSR, Stalin would've intervened militarily.

Tito dealt with the Stalinists in Yugoslavia by sending them to Goli Otok ("Barren Island").

It is also a fact that the Muslim forces had slaughtered at least 3,000 Serbs in and around Srebrenitsa just months prior. The "Serb government" who said 8,000 were killed in Srebrenica was a hand-picked group of blackmailed local politicians. As for the bodies - it's been 11 years and still there aren't even close to 8,000 bodies. If you accuse somebody of killing 8,000 people, the least you can do is provide some evidence.

Yugoslavia was Communist, and the USSR actually invaded their during the 1960's, I believe.

My apologies - I was mistaking the USSR invasion of Hungary and Czech for Yugoslavia. Those crazy Slavs! /joke

Yugoslavia, while Communist, did keep themselves separate from the USSR. I understand that they still had a significant trade relationship.

No, it's not.

For the whole region, i.e the municipalities of Srebrenica, Bratunac, Vlasenica and Skelani, the Serb authorities claimed previously that about 1400 people were killed due to attacks committed by the BH Army forces for the period of May 1992 to March 1995, when Srebrenica was under the control of Naser Oric. Now the figure has become 3,500 Serbs killed. This figure may have been inflated. Taking the term "victims" as defined previously, these figures just does not reflect the reality.

Indicative of the Serbian numbers are those for Kravica, wherein 43 Serbs were reported killed, without specifying that 13 were civilians, and 30 were members of the VRS who conducted an active defence of the village until withdrawing under fire the day of the attack. Later, Serb sources had the audacity to claim that 353 persons were "virtually destroyed" during the attack, which demonstrates that while the accounting of Srebrenica's Muslim victims has gotten more accurate over time, the Serbian victims have been inflated to try and rationalize what happened to the Muslim victims.

No dice.

As for the bodies - it's been 11 years and still there aren't even close to 8,000 bodies. If you accuse somebody of killing 8,000 people, the least you can do is provide some evidence.

The ICMP reports that around 3,500 Srebrenica victims have thus far been identified, nevermind simply recovered as unidentified, and that "hand-picked group of blackmailed local politicians" was kind enough to reveal the location of 32 as of yet undisclosed Srebrenica related graves back in 2004, which are still to this day being exhumed.

Srebrenica has become a form of IQ test - only a fool attempts to deny what happened there in July of 1995, and the Serbian response to what happened there in large parts explains why the Republika Srpska is being dismantled.

It's very easy to see that your claims are baseless. The column left Srebrenica a day before it fell. The mixed column suffered terrible casualties. About 6,000 of the column were soldiers of the Bosnian Mulim Army. About 40% didn't make it to Tuzla.

So, you should ask yourself what happened to these soldiers. Did they surrender to the V.R.S who then executed them?

Well, that's where your theory falls apart. That's because you claim that nearly all the missing muslims from Srebrenica (6,000 or so) surrendered in the first couple of days after being cut off. However, it was the second, latter, half of the column that was cut off and that was made up of civilians, not soldiers.

Nearly the entire 28th division were in the front of the column and made it over the road at Konjevic Polje.

It's very easy to see that your claims are baseless.

The Serbs told Maj Franken they had 6,000 prisoners, subsequent radio intercepts repeated that number, and then the radio intercepts started talking about "distributing" "parcels".

Fast forward 11 years to where, as stated, around 3,500 of those recovered "parcels" have been identified, and the majority of the places to where they were ultimately "distributed" have been located and exhumed, with or without the help of the Bosnian Serbs themselves.

I refer you back to my comment regarding Srebrenica being a form of IQ test.

Did they surrender to the V.R.S who then executed them?

Stupid question.

A more accurate statement would be...

"This atrocity has been documented through thousands of testimonials by 'witnesses' including many that were listed as killed".

Rodney I went to Kosovo in 1999 with the opinion that the Serbs were wrong. When my tour was over in 2000 it sickened me to know the real truth about what was going on and that the Serbs were acting in self defense against the murdering KLA. I was ashamed that the US military had taken the KLA under their wing while Serbs, many of them old people were being hunted down like animals. I came back feeling that it was the Serbs who should have had our support. Now the US and England want to give Kosovo to the KLA thugs thereby establishing a Narco Terrorist state.

"I too came late to seeing that the 1999 bombing was a BIG CLINTON MISTAKE."

***** I'm afraid it's worse than a mistake, it appears that it wasn't a mistake, but it was part of a bigger plan and designed to happen, knowing the consequences. It's not over yet. I am speculating that once Kosovo gets independence at the end of the year, the ANA/NLA will focus on the dismemberment of Macedonia in 2007 to 2009. The NLA may start sniping, bombing, and using hit and run tactics, ducking in and out Albania and Kosovo.....I can also see mortar attacks and running, ambushes, also hitting internationals targets, and provoking the Macedonian authorities once again. If, by 2009, Macedonia's government is in turmoil and ready to dissolve; Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, etc would absorb what was left........

The Albanian extremists in South Presevo will start making complaints and expressing fears of Serb Police and military maltreatment. They will start ambushing police patrols and returning to Kosovo across the "borders"......lobbying groups with the agenda to annex South Presevo.

Montenegro is already on the way to independence, as well as political activity in Volvadina and Sandjak.

I am against all enemies of the United States; whether they be communists, Islamist terrorists, or murdering thugs like Noriega, Milosevic, and Saddam Hussein.

BTW, Lion, Serbs were arming Saddam Hussein right up through 2002, their leaders were recipients of Saddam's oil for food bribes, and they are cozying up to Iran. What is the story behind your attraction to America's enemy?

Saddam's Serb Supplier

Iran-Serbia Security Cooperation Agreement

April 6, 1989: Yugoslavia establishes diplomatic relations with the State of Palestine. PLO office in Belgrade acquires the status of an embassy.

Serbia-Iraq want united anti-U.S. front

U.S. Says Serb Defense Firms Developing Cruise Missile for Baghdad

The Orao Deal

Saddam's Oil Voucher Recipients (Slobo & his wife combined to be the biggest political recipients of Saddam's oil bribes in Europe. The Yugo Socialist Party received vouchers for 1,000,000 barrels and the Yugo Left party received 9.5 million; those organizations were headed by Mr. and Mrs. Milosevic, respectively.)

And there's more to come as the documents captured in Baghdad continue to be translated. The Iraqi Perspectives Report prepared by the U.S. military details Serb missions to Saddam Hussein in 2001 (post-Milosevic and post 9/11 by the way) intended to help Iraq kill Americans. Here's one of the gems from that report:

"In a meeting with the leader of the Serb Radical Party in 2001, Saddam discussed how he was not impressed with the "Imperialist Tactics" of the United States because, in his opinion, Serbia was able to withstand them. Captured Iraqi document dated 12 December 2001, "Meeting Minutes between Saddam Hussein and Leader of Serb Radical Party."

That was the Communists supporting Saddam, not Serbia. Had the UN not imposed crippling sanctions on Serbia and Montenegro, there would've been no need to trade weapons for oil.
