I find two things of particular interest in this story.

1. Its another one of those things that makes it really hard to like McCain. I'm not one who would refuse to vote for him, as I'd take him over Hillary (or any other potential Dem nominee), but it just seems like he sometimes goes out of his way to make himself unpalatable to the base.

2. The line from the anonymous protesters about Bush really does serve to illustrate the hole the GOP has dug for itself. Yes, its true that one shouldn't read too much into the stupid ravings of some nut in some outrageous demonstration, and one shouldn't assume that the sentiments expressed by the nut represents the broader Hispanic community. But it shouldn't be disregarded either, as the sentiment probably has more widespread acceptance than we'd like to think. Bush has reached out (or pandered) like no other Republican, and like few Democrats. His rhetoric on immigration is decidedly leftist. He has refused to enforce existing laws. He has embraced a form of amnesty. Yet despite all of this, you still have people from the group Bush has sought to placate basically calling him and his party a bunch of racists.

It should serve as a cautionary tale for Republicans.

McCain is done.

I don't care who runs against him, it could be Mickey Mouse, his support from the right is finished.

He's an out and out disgrace.

If the Pubs can't find anyone better than a 72 year, Rhino, member of the Keating Five, CFR author etc etc to run as president, it does not need my vote. Period

I see McASS is up to his old tricks again. I am ashamed to call this guy one of my state senators. He never seems to stop making a total ass of himself.

"We're not going, but Bush can leave!"

And Karl Rove really thinks these people are going to be nice Republicans if we appease them.

Of course, Karl won't ever have to put up with these illegals, unless he runs into them cutting the greens at his fancy country club.

The Arizona Republican party asked me and others not to recall mcstain since our majority was so slim in the senate. (Remember this effort when he voted AGAINST the Bush tax cuts!) Oh how I wish we did it when we had the chance. We really could have made a difference in these last 6 years......

I've called the national office and asked if they will boot him out of the party now to save the state for us, they had no comment.

After 20 proud years of voting republican I am really missing Ronald Reagan, and am now starting my whisper campaign against against McStain for any election...

This proud retired marine will not vote for a party that will bow down to illegal aliens!
