"I am disgusted with GWB at describing Americans as not wanting to work at certain jobs. What a ludicrous statement considering American citizens hold over 95% of all jobs with the illegals only doing 4%. What a slap in the face to all the hard working citizens of this country. Our Senators and President are not representing the people of this nation nor are they upholding their oaths of office to do so. They all need to be IMPEACHED and thrown out of office."

When was the last time you applied for a job to pick fruit, mow lawns, trim hedges, pick beans, wash clothes etc? What GWB said is TRUE. What should be enforced by we the people is border protection and enforcement of our laws. That may be a true failing of GWB, but I do agree with him that we should provide a work visa for those who come out of the closet and go the legal route to apply for citizenship. The illegals are already here, deporting all of them is an impossible task. What is possible is what I mentioned above and then deporting the minority who refuses to be registered.

I picked asparagus, mowed lawns, etc. when I was in my late teens.

Now answer this; who did all those things before we had the invasion of illegals?

I'm sick of seeing my husbands wages driven down. He is in the construction trade and has seen his wages drop by over $4 an hour in the last few years. We 50 somethings are being screwed.

Blame some of this problem of your husbands wage reduction on NAFTA and other free trade organization deals. NAFTA was a Clinton deal and opened up the current huge trade deficit with China. The general premise of engaging all countries to promote democracy can work well in theory for the long-term, but necessary throttling and supervision was sloppy at best. I feel for you on the decreased wages. 911 hurt our general economy for years. I am in the media and marketing business as an owner. My wages dropped 20% during 2001-2005 but are just about back to where they were pre-911.
