You are too wrong to comment more on - perhaps from DU are you?
I too don't trust the Senate. I like the bill, but if local enforcement is not there, what of the bill?
33% of the U.S. prison population is made up of illegals.
In Los Angeles, 95 percent of outstanding
homicide warrants are for illegal aliens, as are 66 percent of fugitive felony warrants. The notorious 18 Street Gang has 20,000 members, of whom 60 to 80 percent are illegal aliens, according to the California Department of Justice and the Los Angeles Police Department, respectively. The Lil Cycos Gang, notorious for murder, racketeering, and drugs in Los Angeless MacArthur Park, was thought to be 60 percent illegals in 2002, and the percentage is higher now.
90 percent of the meth (methamphetamine) manufactured in this country is manufactured by Mexican national (Mexican non-U.S citizen) drug organizations,"- Ron Gravitt, California Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement's clandestine lab unit chief, Oct. 2000, Sacramento Bee Special Report. "Methamphetamine cases today account for 80% of the nation's police departments' drug investigations
Over the past five years, an average of more than 72,000 aliens have been arrested annually on drug charges alone.
Taxpayers pay $750 million annually to house the 18,000 illegal aliens in California prisons alone.
Cost of educating illegals each year: 28.6 billion dollars
Monetary burden on U.S. taxpayers: More than 10.4 BILLION dollars annually
Cost of Illegals on Medicaid: $2.5 billion.
Cost of Illegals for health insurance: $2.2 billion.
Cost of Illegals for food assistance: $1.9 billion.
Cost of Illegals on our legal systems: $1.6 billion.
Cost of Illegals on federal aid to schools: $1.4 billion.
Displaced American workers: Approximately 1.8 million annually.
Drudge alluded to that last night... and I have to totally concur. If half of America doesn't have the guts to fight Islamo-nazism in Iraq... they sure as hell won't stand up to illegals going beserk on Main Street USA. They'll demand peace at any price.
Every Senator and Representitive saw what happened in LA this weekend... they also know what's been happening in France. I look for our esteemed solons to do absolutely... NOTHING.
SUPPORT.
I am the husband of a naturalized American who got her citizenship the hard way -- LEGALLY.
If this many illegals are protesting so loudly, we must be doing something right.
IMO, this situation is beyond our control. We've let it get to the point where, no bill , change in the law or personal opinion, will change what is happening. I guess I'm befuddled. All We can do is fence the borders but, the illegals here will probably just tear it down.
I support 4437 and have sent every free fax I can from:

Plus, I have written numerious letters to my Congressman and Senators. Numbersusa gives my Senator, Mitch McConnell, a failing grade on Immigration and I agree with them.
$205 billion dollars.
How fast is that file growing yearly?
$6 billion to $7 billion in Social Security tax revenue and about $1.5 billion in Medicare taxes.
Where is that money coming from?
In 2002 alone, the last year with figures released by the Social Security Administration, nine million W-2's with incorrect Social Security numbers landed in the suspense file, accounting for $56 billion in earnings, or about 1.5 percent of total reported wages.
Social Security officials do not know what fraction of the suspense file corresponds to the earnings of illegal immigrants. But they suspect that the portion is significant.
"Our assumption is that about three-quarters of other-than-legal immigrants pay payroll taxes," said Stephen C. Goss, Social Security's chief actuary, using the agency's term for illegal immigration.
Other researchers say illegal immigrants are the main contributors to the suspense file. "Illegal immigrants account for the vast majority of the suspense file," said Nick Theodore, the director of the Center for Urban Economic Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago. "Especially its growth over the 1990's, as more and more undocumented immigrants entered the work force."
Using data from the Census Bureau's current population survey, Steven Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies, an advocacy group in Washington that favors more limits on immigration, estimated that 3.8 million households headed by illegal immigrants generated $6.4 billion in Social Security taxes in 2002.
Why is the Federal government not doing more to stop illegal immigration?
Because if they did, then they would have to fix the Social Security system.
Follow the money.
Many illegals are criminals (aside from the illegality of their mode of entry).
You like this?
BTTT for your figures.
Yes. Also agree with this:
"Yes... I support it... but I've also supported all the other laws dealing with illegal aliens that are ALREADY on the books. What good are laws... when the courts refuse to enforce them?"
yes
Suppor 4437. I am very supportive of Mexicans through free trade and maqiulladoras. I want economic growth for Mexico.
I even want the legal Mexican immigrants. But it is not fair to those who stand in line to have the illegals go first.
