[90 percent of the meth (methamphetamine) manufactured in this country is manufactured by Mexican national (Mexican non-U.S citizen) drug organizations,"- Ron Gravitt, California Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement's clandestine lab unit chief, Oct. 2000, Sacramento Bee Special Report. "Methamphetamine cases today account for 80% of the nation's police departments' drug investigations]

The mexican government is a drug organization intent on destroying America, near as I can tell.

hundreds of millions to be spent on a fence that will be subverted by a $5 ladder?

$5 ladder? Hardly.

It is quite smart. There is no one solution here. But several solutions done in conjunction will made a major dent in border security. And a barrier is a key part of that combination.

Wrong. The best solution is hardly a guest worker program. The best solution also requires no additional expense in border security at all. The best solution is to remove the very things which make illegals desire to come here to begin with. The vast majority of them who are coming here are not crossing the border with the purpose of smuggling and such.. most are crossing the border because of the social benefits (welfare, medical, etc) and for jobs. If we can eliminate THOSE folks from wishing to come here, then the existing border patrol would probably be very adequate for dealing with the small number who would be left, and who are the REALLY bad boys.

First Step: The most obvious... eliminate ALL social benefits for illegal aliens. No education. No medical, or if we allow emergency medical, we require E.R.'s to turn in those who cannot document legal residence to ICE for deportation. NO WELFARE OF ANY SORT.

Second step: $10,000 per day, per illegal alien employed. Fine to be imposed on the employer of any illegal alien. Responsibility for verification that the person is legal for employment is 100% upon the employer. (10 illegals employed for 10 days = 1 million dollar fine) No Excuses accepted.

Third step. Make it well known, even among illegal aliens, that half of all fines imposed will be split with the first individual (even if he is an illegal) who makes a report that results in conviction of the employer. This will result in illegals who know that, for every day they are employed, they can quit or get fired and then report the boss, and get $5000 for each day he was employed (or even much more if the employer is employing other illegals as well). Naturally they will not want to wait TOO long, since they want to be the first to turn the employer in, before some other illegal does so. This will result in massive numbers of illegal aliens turning in their own employers. This would require very little manpower on the part of the Fed. Govt to go out and catch companies that employ illegals, as it would turn illegals, themselves, into defacto "agents". As a result, employers will lose all incentive to hire them to begin with and will have GREAT incentive to insure they do not hire one.

No Jobs, No social benefits, No illegals.

Well, I'm sorry to go against the flow, but I voted no in the poll because it is merely a cape before the bull (and there's a lot of bull), that is to say a distraction and an appeasement. We're all supposed to be happy with this "proposal", but I ain't happy with it at all. It's just more of the same stop-gap bull manure that has been going on for the last 20 years with this issue.
That bill won't do a damned thing to stop the flow of illegals entering this country.

Have your pacifier ready America, 'cause we'll be crying anew in our milk if that JUNK of a bill gets passed.

Disclaimer: Just 'cause I ain't happy with it doesn't mean I need to have my head snapped off because of my stance.

Do you see anything in this section (101 ACHIEVING OPERATIONAL CONTROL ON THE BORDER) that isn't already being done?
(b) Operational Control Defined- In this section, the term `operational control' means the prevention of all unlawful entries into the United States, including entries by terrorists, other unlawful aliens, instruments of terrorism, narcotics, and other contraband.

As for the rest of that section...well, it's all in place now and hasn't done a thing to slow things down so far.
These "words" won't slow anything down either.

I don't even know what good legislation will do. If they pass the house bill and we get what we want, they won't enforce it. We always get it in the moon from government. They use things like immigration to ratchet up voter turnout and then they pull the rug out from under us.

The same thing happened to the philippines. Hundreds of thousands of filipino migrated illegally in Malaysia and they were all kicked out. I know we are talking millions but also consider the land size. Its not our problem if they can handle it or not. We will fight them too

Who would you fight? The government? As of this very moment the majority in our government on both sides of the aisle are for allowing illegals to be in our land. They are in the process right now of making what is illegal legal.

I support it 100%.
On earlier polls, it would state how you voted.
Can we get that back.

If this many illegals are protesting so loudly, we must be doing something right.

The House of Representatives did do something right. They passed H.R. 4437...unfortunately the cowardly Rinos and rats in the senate didn't follow through and make it law. We won't get a bill this year but we can start really pressuring the gov't to enforce laws already on the books.

I don't agree with anything you say. American's do the same thing. Sick American's go to Mexico and all these other poor countries and rape little girls and women then bring them over here under lies to turn them into prostitutes. You talk about meth who do you think buys it??? Americans. You have no idea what people go through to make better lives for themselves and there family's. I oppose the law with everything I have. Just because they are illegal it doesn't mean they are bad.

Welcome to FR.

Just because they are illegal it doesn't mean they are bad.

Yeah. It's okay because they only broke the law that they didn't care for.
I don't care for tresspassing laws. Can I please move into your home and live there without your permission?

Legalizing Illegal's just sends a bad message to those coming to our country. Right off the bat, the very first thing they do when entering America is break the law.

An American has the right to protest and speak out loud about laws and rules that they do or don't like. If you don't like a law, then you should complain to your reprehensives, but you should obey the law until it is changed.

Illegal immigrants have been pouring into our country for so long with the government just turning a blind eye. If doing something illegal for so long means the gov't will eventually change the law in your favor. I think we are very close in having legalize marijuana and cocaine use in our country very soon now.
