And they SMOKE TOO...
Serves as a good negative example does it not? My father was an alcoholic. Having observed what it did to him and my family, even when I feel like "tying one on", I just can't bring myself to drink more than a beer an hour. On the bright side, my wife thinks I'm a cheap date :-)
Mexicans have a lot of blood and genetic heritage in common with Native Americans (Indians). Indians were only recently introduced to alcohol and have significantly less tolerance for it then Europeans who have been imbibing alcoholic beverages for millenniums. Alcoholism is a tragic plague on the reservations around Wyoming and Montana that I am familiar with. Mexican Indians might be slightly more tolerant because they did have some fermented cactus drinks before the Spanish got there. I think they might have called it "pulque". It was essentially tequila that had not been concentrated through a distillation process.
In any case, I would not be at all surprised to learn that Mexican were genetically predisposed towards alcoholism. I would also not be surprised to learn that there was a direct correlation between darker skin pigment (more Indian blood and less European blood) and predisposition towards alcoholism.
Hilarious. We get the anti-Catholic thing right in the comment to the initial post. Bravo! You win the most egregious anti-Catholic post of the day award. Hip-Hip-Hoorah!
I am fed UP with you fellows harrassing me about being anti-catholic!!!! That's enough! If you don't like what I write, then DON'T read it!!! Not once can you document that what I've written is NOT the truth. Everything I write is documentable, so BACK OFF! Nothing you can say, write or do is going to keep me from informing people and nothing I write about it is going to please you. So, you leave me along and I'll do the same for you.
"And they SMOKE TOO..."
And I've known a couple of Catholic priests who smoked, too, so there you are. It's all the Catholic priests' fault. [/sarc]
Read post # 25. It happens to be the TRUTH. How does that make it egregious? I have seen on MANY occasions catholic priests drinking at parties. How is the priest going to persuade members to avoid catholicism when he drinks?

Why did God invent whiskey?
To prevent the Irish from running the world.

Just "family values moving northward" according to our one-worlder President.
LOL!
You're the one making completely unsupported assertions.
Everything I write is documentable, so BACK OFF!
"Documentable" - then please provide us with documentation that priests drunkenly carouse at quinceanas and baptisms.
You're a liar and I won't "back off" until you stop lying, tantrum girl.
"I have seen on MANY occasions catholic priests drinking at parties. How is the priest going to persuade members to avoid catholicism when he drinks?"
Uh, why would a priest want to persuade members to avoid catholicism? You're not making any sense, and all the capitalization in the world won't help.
I tell you, the most annoying thing about going to Myrtle Beach this time of year is all those white spring-breakers handing out temperance pamphlets and being so overly polite.
Yeah. The people in the new world had the sense to avoid spoiled fruits etc.
To prevent the Irish from running the world.
I could be much more acid than I have been and am NOT interested in going there. My point is NOT to ridicule or make fun of anyone catholic. The issue is revealing the truth, nothing more.
"You're right. Young Anglo men never participate in public drunkenness."
Is your daughter better?
You know what's also annoying - how no white people ever stop by a bar after work and get drunk. That's why there are almost no bars in English-speaking neighborhoods.
