I think this was a separate case related to actions which occurred in a different jurisdiction, so I don't think it has any effect on the "home detention" sentence she's now under in the other jurisdiction.

The charges were dropped in Marion County. A few months ago in Hillsborough County, LaFave pleaded guilty to two counts of having sex with her student, who was then 14. In exchange, she has to serve three years of house arrest followed by seven years of probation.
Still a slap on the wrist, though. Expect a Playboy offer soon.

I don't think a judge or prosectuto in one county can dismiss what is already a done deal in another county. I think her sentence from the first county stands.
