According to a video report from BBC News, Daniel Craig is under contract to play James Bond until 2012.
With an average gap between films of two years, that could mean Craig shoots at least a further three 007 movies after "Casino Royale".
Sean Connery squeezed in 5 movies in 6 years in his initial run as 007, Roger Moore bonded 7 times in 13 years, and Pierce Brosnan managed four films in 8 years.
And he will be driving a Ford in CR
When the H are they going to get Indiana Jones 4 off the ground? I don't care about Bond except when Connery and Moore made them.
Who's the moron who signed the contract?
Hasn't there been some kind'a 'alert' recently, like 'death of MSM'? Hollyweird of any nation sucks - evidence of glo-ball-ization. More glowing bull warning for the gullah bull.
They're just making some badly needed changes to stay politically correct.
I believe they will be changing 007 to M007 to highlight Bond's new metro-sexual image, no guns, cars, women, liquor... etc.
/S
Its coming. I think GL and Spielberg have approved the script.
Moore simply sucked as Bond. Brosnan was pretty darned good; Timothy Dalton was HIGHLY underrated; did a superb job. Connery was the model.......tough act for anyone to follow.
One writer (name....I can't remember) said it best: Connery was cool..............Moore was......cold.
"So, James Bond movies are going to suck until 2012"
Sounds like it.
That nonsense about Bond driving a little Fiat, and a Ford, were soon discarded. The new Bond car will be the brand new Aston Martin DBS. I've seen pictures of it, and it's a snappy looking car.
A 007 movie is one of the few things that will get me to the movies, and I have high hopes for this one.
Time will tell, but it's promising so far.
They are changing 007 from a Navy Commander to a Captain in the British Special Air Service Commandos. That's the biggest change I can see.
He's gonna be carrying the Walther PPK again too.
Right on! They should have made Gerard Butler (aka the Phantom of the Opera lead), the hot Scot, the new Bond. But no, they don't listen to their female fans. LOL. Butler is to die for! I'd post his pic but can't figure out the complex formula...LOL
Dunno why you'd say that, unless it's because Fleming's stories are used up and the latest Bond doesn't drive a stick shift, doesn't like guns, and generally acts queer as a football bat.
I swear I'm gonna start rooting for Blofeld.
LMAO!! Boy did I need the laugh today, thanks!!
I don't understand what all the advance criticism of Daniel Craig is about. Bond hasn't exactly been played by Sean Connery for quite some time; only he and Tim Dalton played the role anywhere near the way Fleming wrote it and they were the only two actors believable in the role. Pierce Brosnan played the "tuxedo" roles well but his joke lines were very staged and sounded practiced (Sean actually thought of several of the quips himself in Goldfinger and the other early movies); also, Brosnan was physically unimposing and not believable in the role. Roger Moore was too much the clown and played the role far too long (the last movie he did was truly rotten). Lazenby was actually a fairly tough character but he just didn't make it in the role, despite having one of the best female costars in the Bond series in Diana Rigg.
When exactly did they decide to make James Bond look like Cindy Sheehan?
Roger Moore was terrific in The Saint. Trouble is, in the Bond flicks he was still playing Simon Templar.
Not in "For Your Eyes Only."
He looks like a gay version of Joe Montana.....is that where that stupid mountain is?
He'd be good and so would Clive Owen. What a shame.
Agreed! Timothy Dalton was much better than Brosnan, IMHO.
Nobody seems to remember George Lazenby? (On Her Majesty's Secret Service). He rocked. He was a very "rough and tumble" James Bond. Much better than Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan for that matter.
Ditto on Dalton.
He was a much darker Bond than even Connery, and that didn't sit well with most audiences.
Moore did have a few good turns, especially "For Your Eyes Only", which I think was one of the best. Unfortunately, Moore stuck around a few flicks too long ("Octopussy" and "View to a Kill', for starters) and reduced HIS Bond to a campy spoof of his former self. He started out pretty well, coming off of "The Saint" TV series.

Yes, a better Bond.
I've seen some trailer of RC and would never have guessed I was watching a 007 movie. They made a serious mistake by rejecting Brosnan. Hopefully RC will be made over with a real 007 character.
I agree. This is a disaster for the series. They started going downhill in 1997, this will be the death knell. This guy is a TOTAL weirdo wussy. My fave was Roger Moore!

Apparently he's working on Beowolf right now.
Good point -they already have the female "M", the racially diverse requirement is taken care of by that black guy who works with M and bond. Halle Berry (the worst bond girl in HISTORY) was the "competent" bond girl (though actually there have been others). It's sad.
and who's playing the part of Indiana? Harrison Ford is too old... too bad they've taken close to 20 years!
Dalton was always a darker 007,can murder in the name of Queen or for personal vengence. Closest to Connery.
This is going to be the death of the Bond movies. I think they should have picked the actor who plays Dr. Kovach on ER (Sorry I forget his name). IMO he would have made an excellent Bond and this guy is also a former paratrooper.
The recent movies seem to be trying to compete with the absolute garbage that action movies have become (Fast and the Furious, Triple X, etc) instead of making good movies with intrigue, mystery and suspence...

Looks like Paul Wellstone with better hair.
Actually, I'm curious on how Daniel Craig will do. He's not the worst choice...
Agree, I rate it as one of the 4 best
Yes, they need to return to what Bond was suppose to be, a killer for our side.
Now THAT's a pic! LOL...he's filming "Butterfly on a Wheel" in Vancouver with Pierce Brosnan and Maria Bello. So far, he hasn't screeched his politics so maybe he's just being good. I'll have to break down and see that film when it comes out unless he goes leftwing kook like Brosnan and Bello have gone. The odds are very good that he's a raving leftie, but I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt since he is silent on it.
Beowulf is playing in Canada but so far, they can't find a US distributor. It appears to be a clunker, so doubt it will play here. It goes to dvd this summer.
Harrison is going to play it.
well they better hurry up! i know it's a role he loves... i look forward to it...
They are; its in preproduction.
