Interesting this long-time Liberal Party backroom hack - prior to her Senate appointment by arguably the most corrupt Prime Minister in Canada's history - just happens to have been born on Lenin's birthday!

BTW, Bill Graham's right: the "official" Librano$ position wouldn't have whined on nearly as long without blaming President Bush personally or calling him a moron.
As for Parrish, you're correct!
The infamous remark that forms the basis for my tagline was made about a year before she was finally gassed, not for her loud-mouthed anti-Americanism but for ragging on Paul Martin personally.

The lady is not elected. She is a Senator which in Canada is a patronage appointment.
Senator Hervieux-Payette was appointed to the Senate in 1995 by 'ti Jean (de jure by the Governor Genaral, de facto by by the Prime Minister). Both she and 'ti Jean were Trudeau cabinet ministers.

Note she hasn't been "elected" to anything - other than corporate & special interest boards - for over two decades having apparently been a "victim" of the 1984 Mulroney widespread fumigation of Parliament.
Nice racket being an appointed Canadian Senator:
Pull down around $150K per year in public money for doing nothing while continuing to work full-time at your
law practice.
(one wonders how her law partners & corporate clients will take to her latest commie prattling?)

It's not clear that she supports seal hunts ....a senator's harsh criticism of the United States in a letter she sent defending the Canadian seal hunt.
I would think that she supports the seal hunt if she is so harshly defending it.
