Sounds to me as if he is leaving no doubt what the facts are and is building to why he will uphold the jury's recommendation for death.

If he gets life, he will wish he got death by the end.

The judge is continuing to review very detailed facts of the search and discovery of Carlie's body. Now reviewing aggravating factors.

Ugh. That's a disappointment. What do you have to do anymore to get punished in this country?

I'm just wondering why two people on the jury thought this turd shouldn't be put on the express bus to hell.

So far he has not ruled on the murder... only the kidnapping and sexual assault.

"During a hearing last month, Smith tearfully apologized for his crimes, telling the judge that he took large amounts of heroin and cocaine in an attempt to kill himself on the day he abducted Brucia in 2004."
He wanted to kill himself then...
To: OCCASparky
they may have religious grounds against the death penalty, though that would have probably been ruled in jury selection.

Thanks. Nobody in my office is working now, all just waiting on verdict.

He committed a capital felony while on probation from committing a felony. He also sexually assaulted a child.
I would vote for the death penalty if I were a juror. Let the Florida Supremes commute the sentence if they feel so inclined.
