I yet to understand what this President is thinking, I do not feel that he has our best interest in mind.....
I'm sorry, but I am very disappointed in Bush.. : (

Gee ...
Dick and Jane, plus their dog Spot, are having fun.
They, as proud products of the American public education system, being funded by proud American taxpayers, ... cannot READ, cannot WRITE, and cannot REASON.
But, then, Americans are like those frogs being slowly boiled in warm, but becoming ever hotter water, ever day ...
Rajesh and Rantu ... are also having fun ... using their skills in science and math ... and Bangalore is one hopping place.
As Dubya faded away ... "Well, we coulda' ..."

It won't be long before fast food drive-thru's figure out how to outsource the ordering. Press the button to order at your local, and someone in India takes your order. [Expect increasingly longer lines was orders have to be corrected.]
I read somewhere that McDonalds is already trying this in some locations, except that it's not to India, but a central call center.

I agree that, politically, it's a tough issue. It's a lot easier for the MSM to feature job losses than gains. Witness what happened during the Reagan Administration. Decade of Greed, and all that . . . .

Back in the early days of the industrial revolution, the Luddite movement destroyed industrial machinery because workers did not want to lose jobs to machinery.
Fast forward more than one hundred years and the modern-day Luddite movement has the exact same goal: stop all economic progress to prevent some workers from having to switch careers.
Thank God the first wave of Luddites failed in their revolution. I hope for the sake of my great-grandchildren that the second wave of the Luddite movement also fails.

emphasizing the creation of jobs in India and foreign acquisitions of US companies, while fostering the creation of jobs in the US for illegal immigrants
The globalist agenda in a nutshell, all made possible by the "free trade" system.

The "List" is a joke. Another BS shuffle to present a rosy picture when the facts are just the opposite.
For example, It lists the export of T.V.'s as increasing. There are no T.V.'s that I am aware of manufactured in the US.
Radios, and other electronic equipment also with an increase. Manufactured in the US? Nope, none that I am aware of.
Air conditioners: There are a few major parts like compressors still made in the US, but all the new facility's are being built overseas.
When I went to school we called it a lie
Now it is called marketing and they teach how to do it at most universities.
Cordially,
GE

Younger Indians are acquiring a taste for pizza from Domino's, Pizza Hut," Bush said. "Today, India's consumers associate American brands with quality and value, and this trade is creating an opportunity at home So, we'll send them jobs in I.T. which pays $80,000+ a year (in the MI area) and we can get jobs in fast food which pays about $6.00 an hour?
Note to Republicans running for office in 2006: please, for God's sake, do not use this stupid logic in your upcoming election campaigns. I'd hate to see the Dems win.

The "free trade" system usurps constitutional government and harms individual rights, you know that thing our government was created to protect. While calling your opponents Luddites(incorrectly I might add)you are advocating the overthrow of our government.

Computer maker Dell said Monday it planned to add 5,000 jobs in India over the next two years, bringing its workforce in the country to 15,000.
Dell currently operates nine plants, six of them outside the United States.
Currently, the company has three call centers in India, a product testing center for corporate customers and a global software development center. Some 10,000 people are employed at these facilities.
Scores of Western companies have been cutting costs by shifting software development, engineering design and routine office functions to countries such as India, where English-speaking workers are plentiful and wages are low.
Dell accounts for less than 4% of the 4 million computers sold in India, whereas the company's share in the global market is about 18%, he said.
Taxes levied by the Indian government on computers and computer parts are a major factor affecting pricing of Dell products and their sluggish sales here.
