We need the UAE, plain and simple

Yeah, to fly planes into buildings Americans won't fly.

I agree with you.
I don't think that the ports should be run by outside entitys, from the UK or the UAE, but, if they were allowed to bid, and won the bid fairly, we can't exclude them. Violates my sense of fair play.

And, as you pointed out, security will be the same as always (for what its worth...).

Weren't those people that flew the plane, and not a religion?

Correct, and, after all, it really was just a few people operating the concentration camps not Naziism itself. There were many well-meaning people who were members of the Nazi party.

You're right, there is absolutley no cause for raising any additional concern when dealing with Islamic nations. It was patently silly of me to suggest such a thing. I now see the error of my ways.

Where do I line up to march off that cliff again?

After seeing Bush on video last night being briefed by FEMA's Brown about Katrina BEFORE Katrina and before Bush's subsequent denials about the briefing...I add that to the Dubai Ports debacle and I really don't give a fig what the self-appointed "conservatives" in Washington have to say. When Charles Schumer and Hillary Clinton are more concerned about our borders and our port security than a so-called conservative adminstration then something is seriously, seriously wrong. If the GOP doesn't like being questioned by party members then perhaps it's time we started leaving the party. Maybe we should bring back the Whigs or the anti-Federalists.

Not islamophobic, but I despise islam and everything it stands for.

Bigot?

There's not a person in the world who can claim NOT to be one. If you do you're a liar.

You'll choose your race over any other anytime survival becomes an issue.

The bottom line is that, for many, politics has become more about winning than about accomplishing the tasks assigned to the government by the constitution. The means has become the end for them. We are soooooooo screwed.

"Weren't those people that flew the plane, and not a religion?"

Give it a rest pinkie. They did it in the name of their religion, as did the animals in Beslan, or the ones in Lebanon, or the ones in Palestine, or the ones in Baghdad, or the ones...

islam is a death cult. The true believers want you dead, and will stop at nothing to accomplish that. The "moderates" tolerate the true believers.

Your thoughts have mirrored mine for the most part. At this point, I've decided that it simply doesn't matter what I think because FedGov is going to do whatever it wants anyway.

...we actually trust our enemies hoping that in the future they won't riot and will perhaps stop being our enemies! Well hey, it worked with the USSR and Russia, .... right?

You mean the President has looked into UAE eyes and seen their souls? Yeah! that's the ticket! that's what happened! /lovitz

"Redefine it as a positive term? I certainly consider myself an Islamophobe as well as Islamocontemptus- and I'm PROUD to say it!"

Count me in. It's a rational response. Spend any time at all considering their teachings, and their actions, and you too can learn to hate islam. (See my tagline).

Islamophobia is rational
It's a survival attitude IMO

Excellent observation.

I wonder how many in pre World War Two England made some of the same remarks about people who distrusted Nazis.

It seems to me that where ever the leaders of this so called religion of peace Islam gather together, they eventually evolve into raving lunatics.

I for one do not want to leave this world to my kids and have it controlled by maniacal people who think cutting off someones head for not believing in their religion is a just sentence.

I was beginning to think my initial reaction to the port deal was wrong. I was starting to think the controversy was media hype.

But as the proponents of the deal brand everyone who questions the wisdom of the deal or who asks for more information racists and bigots, I’m back to opposing the deal. Bush and Norquest sound like Jackson and Sharpton when talking about this. Rush is sounding like that nut Cornel West.

It’s been my observation over these many years, that the people on the wrong side of an argument are the ones screaming racist at anyone who dares disagree or question them. It’s the tactic of choice for those with a bad argument or something to hide.

I’m now firmly against this deal, and writing my congressman and senators asking they stop this deal with legislation. I will also call them as soon as I post this.

Perhaps, the Muslims that do not want to kill, are in the majority?

"Perhaps, the Muslims that do not want to kill, are in the majority?"

And how would you know? Where's the fatwa on OBL? Where's the fatwa on killing innocents? Where's the fatwa on honor killings? Where is the outrage from "moderates"?
I don't hear it, do you?

It's called being complicit in their silence. And since there is no way to differentiate which muslims want to kill me, versus the ones who want me dead, but wouldn't actually do it... survival instinct says I need to regard them all as enemies.

You actually defend these animals? You hear them justify that innocents are actually combatants, and therefore legitimate targets, and that's ok? You know that conversion from islam to another religion in the ME will lead to death, that's ok? You hear the islamic leaders in Iran call for Israel to be wiped from the map, that's ok? These people KILL over a cartoon, that's ok? They treat women as property, that's ok?

These are different, harsher times. Your bleeding heart will end up costing you dearly if those of your ilk prevail over those of mine.

Perhaps, the Muslims that do not want to kill, are in the majority?

To date, evidence does not support this hypothesis. If it were true, there would occasionally be demonstrations not led by bloodthirsty fanatics.
