GEICO is a conservative organization. Contrast it with "Progressive" Insurance, which is a comsymp front.

Two blondes sitting on a park bench looking at the moon.

One blonde says "I wonder which is farther away.....the moon or Florida."

The other blonde says "Well Duh! Can you seeeee Florida??"

Progressive is the company that aired a TV commercial with the undignified and deplorable scene of a woman simulating the castration of her cheating man via computer (he was seen cheating through a webcam she came across and she then used a scissors to snip). A modified version of the commercial still airs without that last scene. Many people must have complained. I knew the company had to be liberal just from that adv.

They say 94%, but the actual sum is $17K...pocket change for a company like that.

I seem to recall an earlier thread on FR about GEICO which claimed they have a reputation for not paying out money on claims. That may be how they can charge lower rates.

A lot of their commercials have been very clever, but I find the recent ones with the lizard speaking with a British (or Australian?) accent annoying.

I think Progressive insurance is connected to The Progressive magazine, an extremely left-wing publication. "Progressive" has become the favored self-definition of a lot of far-out leftists.

I wouldn't have anything to do with the insurance company since I don't want to fund the left (any more than I have to--given that Congress gives taxpayer money to left-wing outfits like NPR).

Interesting conjecture but is nothing more than conjecture. There is nothing to say that blond hair didn't come "out of Africa" with the particular group that populated Europe. Actually Northern Europeans evolved from a blond blue-eyed race of Bigfoots in present day Finland and are not related to the Southerners at all.

Geico has the best ad writers in the business. The soap opera ad is a classic and it works wonderfully well on radio where I heard it first long before I saw it on the shop TV.

It is also a cultural fact that all societies whose habits are known have selected for lighter color among the rulers. When a darker-thn-average rebel usurps the throne or takes over the cheiftanship he marries his children to the lightest skinned/haired eligible members of the group he selects from.
In more advanced societies, even now, the elites, economic/cultural/whatever select for light. Our own intellectual elites do the same, even while railing against the practice. The practice is not a respecter of race or ethnicicity here or anywhere else. Mum and Dad may not "forbid" a marriage based on hue but the reception for a darker potential mate will be decidedly cooler. Blondes are generally preferred by just about everybody.
