Nothing to fear! George Bush is here! He told there is nothing to worry about. I feel better already.
That's a good one. For all this "research" supposedly going on they seem to be missing quite a few details.
Yesterday Hannity asked Karl Rove if the UAE recognized Israel's right to exist and Rove said YES. Why did he say YES when they do NOT recognize Israel's right to exist??
Conducted state-sponsored telethons for Palestinian suicide bombers, for one.
Bush did say there's "nothing to worry about." He was shown on the news this evening making that very statement. I heard it. I'm sorry, but I don't think this company should have access to classified security arrangements. The suggestion that our ports should be operated by any foreign government in this day and age is just plain nuts. The committee that approved it is supposed to subject a decision like this to at least 45 days of careful scrutiny. That's the law.
There's a big difference between not formally recognizing a state and denying a state's right to exist. Totally different concepts. Rove was right.
Politics.
Oh, yea sure
The commission claims that it addressed all the security concerns. I guess they could have sat for 45 more days and addressed them all over again, but I'm not sure that was really necessary. If your interpretation of the law is the one that carries the day, perhaps they'll sit for another 45 days. But at the end, I'll bet they come up with the same conclusion, the one reached by our Armed Forces, by the way.
And, I assume that when Bush said "nothing to worry about" he meant "no more to worry about with this company than with the one currently in place." But I won't mince words.
WOW....how did you come up with that explanation? LMAO...
"Oh, yea sure"
I assume your reply means that when you read my answer to your question you smacked your forehead and said, "Oh! It was so obvious!"
>>Don't get me wrong, I respect Rush... but he seemed a little disingenuous that day.<<
I love El Rushbo. He is #1 in my book.
That said, he REALLY disappointed me today when he said, "Most of what I'm hearing from the opposition is jingoism and racism."
I had to do a double-take to make sure I wasn't hearing Hillary Clinton demonizing her opposition. Same contemptible tactics.
I have seen opinions run the gamut right here on FR, but "RACISM"? What a crock. What an underhanded, below-the-belt smear.
I have very little respect for someone who misrepresents the other person's argument. Disingenuous is right.
I was extremely disappointed in Rush today, just like when Laura Bush implied that those who opposed Harriet Miers were sexists.
Dubai Ports World is a business. It will make its acquisition of the British company successful by helping to prevent a terrorist attack in the U.S. There will be less risk with UAE ownership than there was with the British company, because the new owners have superior knowledge.
"WOW....how did you come up with that explanation? LMAO..."
Well, Braniac, I'll make it easy for you. England doesn't formally recognize Taiwan, but they do recognize Taiwan's right to exist. This means that if China were tomorrow to try to "push Taiwan off the map," Britain would at least voice strong objection, call for a condemnation, etc.
Got it now?
No....I did not. I guess you also believe that the Crown Prince of UAE and the UAE govt. conduct state-sponsored trelethons for Palestinian suicide bombers because they are concerned about the Israelis.
You know what? You shouldn't really compare the UK and Taiwan with UAE and Israel. Such ridiculous comparisons that don't consider the ground realities make you look uninformed (at best).
