If Cunningham/his doctors had found the prostate cancer early ( a VERY easy thing to do, now ), had his prostate removed, he would be fine now. But then, if he had acted morally, he wouldn't now be facing a long jail sentence.
Bleeding hearts post over there...to the left........on DU.
Let him rot.

Personally I think that the man has been punished enough, he has lost job, wife, friends, country, he is down, should we kick him?
You make some excellent points. Your posts have been very interesting. I tend to agree with you on some of the major points regarding crime, violent especially. Now what I may be missing among the lynch mob mentality is what is going to be the punishment for the guys who ran the companies who paid him these bribes? How about all those involved with those companies who knowingly stayed quiet during this bribefest. Finally, who exactly got access to secret material as a result of this mans treachery? So, you see, most want one recognizable hanging, yet have no interest in nailing the obviously many accomplices, which there always must be.
And age and/or poor health isn't a de facto license to commit a crime.
He should be executed for violating the Public Trust! No sympathy from me.
Real shame if he were to die in prison.
But that's the fate he chose for himself when he took the bribes.
It is truly sad when a genuine hero fails so miserably but if he did the crime he must face the consequences.
Still, it's a small consolation to know that this a$$hole is being tormented by his a$$hole.
No mercy for official corruption. If I could work my will he would lose the hand he took the bribes with.
Well he's gotta die somewhere.
dying a pauper in prison is probably not a bad thing if it gets a point across to congress to just open swiss numbered accounts and not do stupid things like inflated real estate sales!
I expect a better quality of crook in my government.
The man is incredibly stupid not to mention greedy. Actions have consequences, and even in our "therapeutic society" where excuses ("root causes") are found for everything, he had the misfortune to be caught just at a time when political corruption is out of favor.
> White collar crime is the worst, I can fight a thug trying to take my $50.00, but I don't stand much of a chance against white collar crooks.
I heartily agree. A guy makes off with millions and defrauds the public trust-- steals from us all with no way to fight back. Why exactly does this guy get to have a cushy sentence?

Jesus is a bleeding heart? That quote is from Jesus.
