One can't help but wonder how differently this story would be covered if the good comptroller was a Republican.
Sen. Packwood, anyone?
Call me a prude, but if this were MY daughter, I wouldn't be too happy. It's not like she was working at Hooter's!
We took my Pop Pop to one of those rotating restaurants atop a tower in Houston (sometime in the late 60s-70s) and even tho he was weak..he kept up with the waitress and her puffy short skirt and ruffle bloomers! Yet he never would have behaved that way to a woman at an official meeting and definately not one in the position as an aide to the Gov.
Sounds like he's getting a bit senile.
As a woman I would be offended to be treated like this. The only man I want ogling me is my husband. Any [expletive deleted] who tells me to walk across the room again so he can ogle my ass is liable to get slapped in the face.
This is fine
Then he summoned her back, as people waiting to testify watched and waited. The aide, looking puzzled, returned to the table, and Schaefer told her, Walk again
This is a rude dirty old man
He said this little girl ought to be happy that I observed her going out the door.
This is "worthy" of Bill Clinton
The video of the incident is available at this link

The ogled woman is one Elizabeth Krum, 24, executive assistant to the governor. Our mission today is to find a picture of this young woman, and verify whether or not she is a cookie.
Schaefer's famous for being a Character (capital C) in Maryland. He used to be the Governor. He wasn't married, so his housekeeper/romantic interest, Hilda Mae Snoops, was his official hostess for state functions - and I am TOTALLY not making up her name. :)
It's Maryland, he's a life-long pol, so yes he's a Dem.
Have to say he was a pretty good mayor and governor too. I think he is also a life-long batchelor. And he may have stayed too long at the party.
Feminsts of the NOWnags will demand a state law that all women must dress like dieseldykes.
Ah no, no you can't
And if you try to, you will find out quickly that being a certain age doesn't give you free rein
I don't suspect she was dressed provocatively either. Now I don't think it was appropriate that he brought her back up there and told her to "walk again" . . . but I don't see anything wrong with the man appreciating her . . . um . . . "assets" as she walked away.
That's certainly well within your rights. But don't be surprised if you get rung up for assault!
Good find. Looks like Schaefer has decent taste!
So! If she was good looking look! Why would one think that the female attire is made the way it is made, to not look? That is what is in our blood. Look but do not touch without permission.
He wasn't known to us Marylanders as William 'Tax Your Dollar' Schaefer for nothing. About a dozen or so years ago, I dated a girl who attended a state dinner hosted by Schaefer. She said he had breath that could blast a buzzard off a shitwagon.
Agreed.

Erlich is near and appears to avoid the second pass of the girl.
I actually think this is sexual harrassment. I've had secretaries harrass me by grabbing and it's not fun or funny.
They had to id as a democrat so the feminazis would know not to get upset.
