This is sad and infuriating at the same time. I don't understand how anyone could oppose a memorial to Pappy Boyington.

Nah, the commie pinko university isn't worthy.
Boyington was a great air fighter, and he wrestled with his demons all his life. The University of Washington is not worthy of a monument to this man.
Besides it would remind all the students of what they are not and could never be...

I don't mean to p--- anyone off needlessly, but isn't this fairly typical of the Northwest, or at least the coastal Northwest?

I'd recommend that right-thinking students at UW start a private fund-raiser to produce the statue anyway, get some off-campus fraternity to agree to put the statue in their front yard, and then sit back watch the lefties running the school howl.

Dipshit.

I hope she hears from every veteran in the country, and I hope they tear her a new @sshole. She doesn't deserve the freedom that was paid for in blood by couragious people such as Mr. Boyington. She isn't worth the spit to shine a veteran's shoes with.

"Everett responded that Colonel Boyington "had many of the qualities the University of Washington hoped to produce in its students." Well, I guess that might be true, if leadership and courage are considered to be good qualities. Anyway ... that's when Jill Edwards spoke up and showed her true colors. She questioned whether it was appropriate to honor a person who killed other people. Then the lovely Jill Edwards said that a member of the Marine Corps was not an example of the sort of person the University of Washington wanted to produce."

Outrageous!

Just wait ... till this country is attacked again and believers are not there to defend them. What will they do? I hope the Lord comes soon! THEN they can have what they want.

Thank the good Lord that we're not all like that. There are nests of good conservation people with plenty of pride in their nation. We almost proved it at our last race for govenor, but we all know what underhanded Democratic moves were made!

The Headline is wrong. It should read The University of Washington is not worthy of a Memorial to Pappy Boyington.

Jill Edwards is not at fault here, she is merely the product of an education system that is destroying America. A system that strives to create liberals , A system that no longer teaches American history or Civics and tries to destropy patriotism in all its form. She didnt pick up her BS off the wall liberal crap on her own, it was taught to her.She is another American who thinks this country is a gift. She cannot conceive of the fact that good men fought for this gift she enjoys. Another idiot who believes the country owes them and that they dont owe the country anything including their loyalty, their freedoms.

Thanks to the folks at WorldNetDaily we can show you a copy of the minutes of a meeting of the student senate at the University of Washington.

According to the educated elites we all know and love, as this is from WorldNetDaily we must first don the tinfoil and set our decoder rings. /sar

"Pappy" was a true warrior. He might have been a poor soldier, but he was a great fighter.

Commie universities have no desire to honor those who fought for freedom. "Pappy" stands for everything they hate. They would sooner put up a memorial to Lenin or Stalin than to put one up for "Pappy".

Unfortunately our schools are full of people like this girl, and they are teaching them to be this way at an ever increasing pace.

Jill Edwards is not at fault here...

I disagree. Jill Edwards aspires to be a leader, and therefore she must THINK. Any mathematics major should be able to fathom that reflexive anti-militarism, to the point of denigrating a MoH winner, is idiotic.

Her name is Ashley Miller. Ashley says that there are already enough monuments at UW commemorating "rich white men." Well .. I guess you have to get that wealth-envy stuff in there somewhere.

Not to doubt Boyington's admirable qualities but as a fiscal conservative, how much in tax dollars will this cost? As the University is receiving federal tax dollars, where is it located that we should be required to pay for statues. To anyone!!

Now mind you, if private funds are used to pay for this, I have no problem with it. I would even think it would be a good idea. But tax dollars? No.
