Uhhhhh.....babe.....what paper is it you write for again? The Daily Bidet?
Communist ideology is only a subset of egalitarian ideology which got a nice jumpstart with the French Revolution. Of course egalitarianism is just of one of many human-centered ideologies that make up the canon of political philosophies that have their origins in the Rennaisance from Machiavelli and flowed through the Age of Enlightenment with Voltaire and Rousseau. So perhaps it runs even deeper than the last century and may last longer than you suspect. Sorry if I was preaching to the choir.
Got to "Nazis" and bailed.
Majors in "Theatre." Figures.
What a choice of words! Now I have this image of gay Orcs chanting "Grond! Grond! Grond! Grond!"
Morford has gotten boring. Time for him to take another re-hab "sabbatical."
I triple-majored in undergrad. One of those majors was Psych. Psychology is not "scientific," no matter how hard it tries to be.
You obviously don't work in a big city. Give a crackhead a squeegee, and it's like a licence to harass anyone who stops for red lights.
Walk away, and forget what you saw. Trust me on this one.
I'm not sure. Do you have a sudden urge to stick your finger up someone else's nose?
If all gays were like Morford, I really would hate them.
Nero invented "gay marriage".
You mean this?:
'Same-sex "marriage" was the invention of the Emperor Nero in the first-century A.D. In a comparatively long reign among the first-century Caesars (A.D. 54-68), he began as a talented and generous though youthful friend of the people, but degenerated in a mere 14 years to become the prototype of Lord Acton's axiom: Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Paranoid in his last years, Nero lived in constant fear of assassination as he in turn ordered the assassinations of members of the Senate and nobility, or sent orders to others to commit suicide. Suetonius, a second-century Roman historian, began "to list his follies and crimes," which included at least three same-sex "marriages." Nero's first same-sex "marriage" was preceded by a transgendering operation on his intended bride that was thought to be successful:
Having trued to turn the boy Sporus into a girl by castration, he went through a wedding ceremony with him dowry, bridal veil and all which the whole Court attended; then brought him home, and treated him as a wife. He dressed Sporus in the fine clothes normally worn by an Empress and took him in his own litter not only to every Greek assize and fair, but actually through the Street of Images at Rome, kissing him amorously now and then.
Sullivan's assumption that "gay marriage" would require its partners "to live up to the standards of fidelity, responsibility and commitment never before asked of them" is certainly not true in the case of Nero. His infatuation with Sporus did not prevent him from pursuing an incestuous love with his mother, Agrippina; when Court politics moved to block him, he engaged a mistress who looked like his mother, but visual evidence suggested to the onlookers that he and Agrippina had intercourse "every time they rode in the same litter the state of his clothes when he emerged proved it." Not even his mother was able to satisfy his passion for long; shortly after his "marriage" to Sporus, he "married" a freedman, Doryphyrus, but this time Nero played the bride, "and on the wedding night he imitated the screams and moans of a girl being deflowered." In time, Nero arranged the murders of his mother and his aunt, Domitia Lepida.'
Good grief.
The law of unintended consequences clicks in on this one. There are reasons to discourage gay sex even knowing gay men are predators at about the same rate as straight men. Research has shown that a man who "gets off" looking at tires (yep, the kind put on a car) will start making an erotic connection. And who among us hasn't heard a straight man comment on how he "wished" he could be gay for the wild, no-holds-barred sex of the gay world. Take away the taboos and many men who sit on the hetro side, holding up families and a sane society will give in -- and the gay lifestyle, on a large scale, is destructive. Watch and see - with Hollywood doing the free ads for the lifestyle we all might get to live with the fallout.
Remember when the libs said marriage didn't matter? And that a happy divorce was better than an unhappy marriage? And that women had to "find" themselves? Lots of walking wounded children are coming of age as the byproduct of that horrible idea. Taboos exist for reasons.... Best to take some things slow.
I live in a town of about 20K and work way out in the boonies (I got lost three times on my first day to work here. They had cows out here! How could anyplace civilized have cows!? I wised up fast though. Civilization is here, barbarism is in the cities)
I escaped from DC 18 years ago and seldom if ever go back. (mostly when the family wants a tour guide)
What gays want is total acceptance of their lifestyle. If my beliefs tell me that being gay is immoral and wrong, then what does that make the gays who try to MAKE me accept them? Seems to me that makes them intolerant, by their own definition of the term.
"Heh heh heh"
WRONG! I was once at a convention, and got a phone call from another convention-goer. It was a homosexual proposition. It scared the daylights out of me. Some queer guy was out there stalking me, and I had no idea who it was.
...reading.
The Daily Vidiot.
Rod Stewart swars that the rumor is false about him drinking a 1 gallon protein shake before a show and having to cancel a concert.
