Unfortunately the fate of the unborn seems to generate little interest with many people. I think that most are not educated enough about the evils of abortion. Have you ever seen abortiontv.com? It should be required viewing for anyone seeking an abortion.

Thanks a million, the practice just sickens me constantly one day we and all will pay for it dearly. One question though i never thought Reagan to be against abortion, i don't know enough about him of course but many Reagan supporters on other sites have talked about him as not being against abortion. I mean did'nt he pick Sandra Day O'Conner to the Supreme?

From reading Reagan's essay on abortion, I think you'd agree. Reagan was crystal clear when it came to supporting the pro-life position. A little history is in order.

Up until about the mid-1970`s, the period right after Roe v Wade, Reagan really didn't have a public postion on the issue of abortion. As he said in the book, "Reagan In His Own Hand":

"It was a subject I'd never given much thought to and one upon which I didn't really have an opinion."

Reagan went onto say, he did extensive research on abortion and lots of "soul searching" He came to the conclusion that abortion was the taking of an unborn human life. IMO, it was Reagan's post Roe v Wade position that matters most today and his essay, followed later by a book of the same name, states his pro-life position, beyond a shadow of a doubt.

On the issue of Reagan's nomination of Sandra Day O'Conner to the USSC. I have read that Reagan got some bad advice from two long and trusted advisors. It was George Schultz and Ed Meese who convinced Reagan to nominate O'Conner. Even though there was some evidence at the time that O'Conner was pro-choice, Reagan went with those men he trusted and he got burned.

Well Reagan Man, I have been perusing the site for quite some time now before registering, and I can attest to the high level of conservatism here. Yes, there are those with liberal leanings on certain issues, but I think that comes with the apparent popularity of the site. Plus I'm sure there are a good number of Democratic Underground lurkers here and there just waiting to goad someone into their convoluted arguments. But overall, this is one of the more conservative sites I have come across. A good thing of course. :)
