LMU: Loyola Marymount University. This Jesuit run school had Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble on the basketball team from 87-90.

Paul Westhead was the coach and they hold the NCAA Div 1 record for taking part in the 5 highest scoring games in NCAA history.

This has nothing to do with this post, outside of the school. :)

I don't get what the fascination is with her.

Not a lot conservatives are willing stand on stage at leftist campuses. Ann has the courage to enter these liberal lion dens and speak the truth. Would you be brave enough to do that?

Yeah, okay, Rachel does look pretty good!

And I suppose her report is about as fair as Ann's ever going to get in a college rag. Still, the out-of-context quotes and Rachel's attacking the story from the angle that Ann is "offensive" bothers me a little.

But hey, Ann can definitely take care of herself and I won't lose any sleep! I'm already looking forward to the after action reports.

Regards,
LH

Hey RonDog, do you know if any of these debates are on CSPAN?

I'd love to watch Newt kick the snot out of the Breck boy.

Not sure.
I do know, however, that Ann's speech at Loyola Marymount tonight will NOT be on C-SPAN.

Even some of Coulter's employers have had trouble with her strong words. MSNBC fired Coulter after she told a disabled Vietnam War veteran, "People like you caused us to lose that war."

Good Grief! I didn't see or hear of this, but let me guess. The disabled veteran was an outspoken critic of the War on Terror, and seeked to undermined America's effort to win. The undermining our effort to win was the point of Coulter's remark, not that he was a disabled veteran.

Hey Rachel, if I'm wrong, I pledge seek out and read any/all forthcoming articles that you author. If I'm right, you quit journalism and seek an occupation where thoroughness is not a requirement. Like, say, an advisor for the Democrat Party.

The disabled veteran was an outspoken critic of the War on Terror, and seeked to undermined America's effort to win...

You are CLOSE. :o)
This particular "urban legend" about Ann referred to a traitor from a PREVIOUS war, the one in VIETNAM.
Here is the REAL story, from Ann's interview in that mouthpiece of the "vast right wing" conspirators (!) TIME magazine:
...MSNBC found Coulter "blunt, rude and just completely over the top," says Stephen Lewis, a former MSNBC producer involved in Coulter’s hiring—and firing. The network dismissed her at least twice: first in February 1997, after she insulted the late Pamela Harriman, the U.S. Ambassador to France, even as the network was covering her somber memorial service. Coulter said Harriman was one of those women who "used men to work their way up" and suggested "Sharon Stone or Madonna" as her replacement. Even so, the network missed Coulter’s jousting and quickly rehired her.

Eight months later, Coulter’s relationship with MSNBC ended permanently after she tangled with a disabled Vietnam veteran on the air. Robert Muller, co-founder of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, asserted that "in 90% of the cases that U.S. soldiers got blown up [in Vietnam]—Ann, are you listening?—they were our own mines." (Muller was misquoting a 1969 Pentagon report that found that 90% of the components used in enemy mines came from U.S. duds and refuse.)

Coulter, who found Muller’s statement laughable, averted her eyes and responded sarcastically: "No wonder you guys lost." It became an infamous—and oft-misreported—Coulter moment. The Washington Post and others turned the line into a more personal attack: "People like you caused us to lose that war..."

"In October 2004, two University of Arizona students threw pies at Coulter while she was giving a speech in front of 2,500 people at the university. The men missed Coulter, but were arrested and spent the night in the Pima County Jail. According to the Daily Wildcat student newspaper, a student group known as "Al Pieda" claimed responsibility."

This occurrance shows that our universities are not teaching the true meaning of, Freedom of Speech". It does not give anyone the right to infringe upon another person's rights. That is exactly what happens when one is belligerent toward another person-rude, mean, nasty, verbally abusive, physically abusive. I'm thinking something similar happened recently at a Connecticut university. So...Why did not all the special interest groups become, "Outraged" at this occurrance. First and foremost, women's groups should have jumped at the chance to protect the right's of women. Seems like it was two men who attempted to take them away. Okay then...Where Are You?

Ann Coulter just finished her speech at UConn, and she was Great! Completely shutout Uconn's liberals.

The lefties showed up in significant numbers but the majority of the crowd was definitely for Ann. Of course the liberals went absolutely nuts during the speech but Ann Coulter just em down, every SINGLE time! And the majority of the conservatives would stand up and cheer everytime they started trying to act up.

At midpoint through her speech some liberals got a hold of the PA system and played a song through the speakers, I couldn't tell what it was. It effectively shut out Ann's speech. I figure some students must have had help from UConn faculty to organize that. If anyone remembers, during this point the liberals started chanting "you suck", I was the guy in the front that stood up and yelled "No, You Suck!" and put and my arms out in the air and kept saying "what!". They stopped chanting and nobody said anything so i turned around and started clapping and then sat down.

After this charade, they finally got the music off the PA and Ann Coulter was just like "Allright, you want play games, lets see what you got?" and invited everyone up for questions.

Just about every liberal who went up got completely shut down by Ann Coulter. It was hilarious! Every liberal would stand in line all proud like they were gonna show Coulter, but after their question Coulter just shut em down with her answer they ended up walking back all shouting and swearing under their breath.

Everytime they got shutout the crowd would started cheering for Ann Coulter's response. The liberals could never give up and keep shouting into the microphone so they would pull the mic out from them. They would always just sit their yelling and finally storming back all swearing and muttering under their breath. I was sitting right up by the line so it was amusing to see how frustrated they got...

Thanks for the link. Watched and listened, and it was quite interesting. The advice Bill O'Reilly gave regarding serving a wider audience if less offensiveness were involved is very much appropriate. Ann reminds me exactly of my own brother, who is incredibly quick-witted. And there are men who find her offensive, simply because, they are not doing their job of protecting women and children, as explicitly stated in The Holy Bible. But many of us women, say, you go Ann...

This is misleading and out of context. Guess the writer had to sneak something in there somewhere.
