If they are growing 70% of the poinsettias in the country, then it is a pretty good bet that anybody who buys them is contributing to the culture of death.

Ping!
I realize that some may think this is foolish, but it is very evident that money that Christians spend on poinsettias at Christmas is used to fund abortions.

I bought a couple some years ago from a kid who was doing a fund raiser. They were the most beautiful pointsettas i'd ever seen. I could never find any as nice as those since, so I haven't gotten them. Hubby doesn't like them anyway, so that's the end of that I suppose.

If they are growing 70% of the poinsettias in the country, then it is a pretty good bet that anybody who buys them is contributing to the culture of death.Un hunh.
And if "pro-life" organizations are using them to raise funds, I guess they are also contributing to the "culture of life."
Gee, what a quandary.
To: wagglebee
James Hartline, a Christian activist in California wrote to LifeSiteNews.com warning that the poinsettias decorating the churches and homes of Christians in the US could easily originate from a family-owned business that has been supporting abortion for decades.
It says could! I don't like using could and would for fact. Do we have any real proof of this. I don't want to stop buying poinsettias if this is just rumor.
To: wagglebee
I just tried to read the article from the thread and it was taken away. I don't think this is true. Where is the proof of this. If we are going to ruin someone's business I want more than a one sided story and I am completely PRO-LIFE, but I don't want to ruin someone's lifeline on innuendo.

Grow your own coleus instead. It looks like poinsettia but has more colors. It can be grown from seed and looks good in 6-8 weeks. Keep warm, moist, and in bright light (full sun).

Several years ago, we bought potted "silk flowers" that look so life-like as to defy belief. You store them under plastic and take them out each Christmas. That is how I'd handle this. Most large hobby stores carry them by the thousands.

I got an email back from them, saying this:
"Thank you for contacting us. In response to your comment below, the Paul Ecke Ranch does not fund or contribute to any organization such as you describe (pro abortion). In fact, contributions by the Ecke Ranch are generally limited to organizations that support research, development and promotion of flowers, or our floriculture industry in general. Examples include: The Society of American Florists and Ohio Florist Association. We hope this provides more clarity to your question."
They could be lying of course.
