Kennedy Voted 'Biggest Windbag' at Alito Hearings
Human Events Online ^ | 11 January 2006 | Robert B. Bluey

Sen. Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.) was voted overwhelmingly the "biggest windbag" on the Judiciary Committee in yesterday's AlitoBlog.com poll.

With 500 votes cast, Kennedy received 69.6% of the vote -- far outpacing his nearest rival, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.), who finished with 18%. Sen. Joe Biden (D.-Del.), a likely presidential candidate in 2008, had 6.4% to finish third.

The committee's ranking Democrat, Sen. Patrick Leahy (Vt.), despite his prominent role during the hearings, placed fourth with 2.4%. Sen. Dianne Feinstein had 1.9% for a fifth-place finish.

The other two Democrats, Senators Herb Kohl (Wis.) and Russ Feingold (Wis.), received no votes.

Yesterday AlitoBlog.com asked readers: "Which Democratic senator was the biggest windbag at the Judiciary Committee's round of opening statements about Judge Samuel Alito?"

Did you hear Leahy today? He asked something really stupid, like "if the President commits murder, should he be immune from prosecution?"

Bearing in mind the conduct of certain recent Democrat Presidents, does he really want to pursue this question?

Only 69.6 percent? But he worked so hard to try and get 75!""

Careful- somehow I think that 69 is one of his favorite numbers......

Where do they come up with this stuff!

***Hillary Clinton's coif should be standing on end at that question by Leahy: Hillary/Foster/travelgate mystery... Is Leahy in Hillary's camp? His question may be a preemptive shot across the bow, that is, at the Clinton Cow.

Every time Teddy opens his mouth, he breaks wind. With all the pious environmentalist blah-blah we hear about alternative energy, you'd think somebody could tie Kennedy to a windmill. He makes enough wind to light up sixteen houses, two barns and his nose.

Clinton, singular! God forbid we ever need to pluralize that.

I guess it's a given that Senators are immune

At least Kennedy does his charade with out pretense, unlike "smilin" Joe. I think Beiden is the worst.

Leahy: If the President commits murder, should he be immune from prosecution?

Alito: Only if he does it on a bridge in an Oldsmobile.

It's really not fair -- Biden worked pretty hard to earn the title.

Then some may wonder why there hasn't been any Presidents out of the U.S.Senatorial ranks in decades.

Everybody on the radio was laughing at this bunch today!

I tuned into C-SPAN for a little while after work. Alito's sitting there like he's watching a bad movie! Once in a while when he answered his wife would smile a little bit. HEH! That tells me a lot.

Maybe these hearings should have been delayed another week so more people would see this? It's bad.

The funnier part is a bunch of wackos are making these democrats look stupid!
