Glad to see the thread. I saw some of it.....Feingold, et al made fools of themselves, in my opinion.

Especially the ones who said that the President does not have wire-tapping powers in war time.

**It smelled of anti-Italian and anti-catholic hatred.**

I heard that soundbite too. Must agree wholeheartedly with your assessment.

CNN always went to commercial during the GOP comments this morning (did not see anything during the afternoon).

I try to give a benefit of the doubt on bias, but not this time. Their coverage was outrageous.

Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) (R) and Ranking Democratic Member Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) attend U.S. Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito's Senate confirmation hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington January 9, 2006. The hearings promise to be bruising on U.S. President George W. Bush's nomination of Alito to the Supreme Court. Barring an unforeseen bombshell, the 55-year-old conservative was expected to be confirmed by the full Republican-led Senate later this month, and possibly move the nation's highest court to the right on social issues. email Wolf about today's CNN coverage since he is at the helm of it:

wolf@cnn.com

I have seldom been as angry as I was after seeing their biased coverage today. I would switch back and forth between FNC and CNN and the difference was amazing.

Fox allowed BOTH parties to speak without interruption.

What did CNN do? Interrupt Republicans. If you had to interrupt for commercials, the way to be balanced would be to alternate which party gets interrupted. GOP, Dem, GOP, Dem etc.

I do feel that Alito will eventually confirmed by the senate, but I see them holding up on the vote until the decision has been made on the case regarding PBA, that the SC is hearing right now.

After a little more digging, the PBA case is Gonzales v. Carhart. SCOTUS hasn't announced its decision whether or not to hear the case. SCOTUS was supposed to take up that question (petition for taking the case, certiorari) last Friday, Jan. 6th, and announce it yesterday, Jan. 9th. I haven't heard any news.

At any rate, a week or two delay at this point won't affect that decision.

I don't have any definitive material to share regarding the possibility that the Ayotte case will be handed down before Alito is confirmed. The Ayotte case was argued before the Court on November 30. I assume the decision could be handed down "any time," given the typical period between hearing and deciding a case is a month or two. As an example of a "longer" decision-composing period, Kelo was argued Feb. 22, 2005 and decided on June 23.

Fox & Friends called every single democrat on the committee to invite them on this mornings show.....every single one of them refused the opportunity.

As far as I know, fine thus far. Specter isn't listening to the answers, because he's aiming for good soundbytes.

Alito is being charged by David Brock's Media Matters (D- Pinhead) as being a FReeper, which his team thinks is sufficient grounds to filibuster.

I hope that Alito is a FReeper :-)

Rush recently reminded listeners just how inarticulate the Swimmer is,and how the MSM gives Kennedy a pass, but is quick to pounce on President Bush. Typical double standards...
