Team Clinton responded to the killing of 500 Americans by attempting a mix of diplomacy -- negotiations through third parties -- and symbolic action. Al Qaeda responded by killing another 3,000.

Also consider this. Not too long ago, Mark Steyn reported that over 200,000 Jordanians went to the streets in Amman Jordan to protest Zarqawi, to the point in which Zarqawi actually had to apologize.

So that proves the culture IS able to clean up their act against the bad elements. How long can we wait after Iran gets the Bomb?

Agreed on the nukes. The Europeans are "leading" at their request and aren't too hard into it. It's hard not to question the purity of their motives, given recent history. Israel isn't going to sit around waiting for the rest of the world to act. I don't think that the US is either and trust that the President isn't going to let this one get out of control.

Politically, we are already creating pressure in Iran simply by helping Afghanistan and Iraq build their own democracies. You may already know that there were demonstrations by the tens of thousands in Iraq in 2003 Pro US. Then there was a clamp down and then the mullahs appointed the current thug.

I actually think that politically the mullahcracy is more vulnerable than the CW, but that's my own two cents.
