Right On. I particularly like this:

"Statecraft won't do the trick. The Clinton administration tried it after al Qaeda attacked New York (the first World Trade Center bombing), Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Tanzania and Yemen. It turned down the chance to take custody of Osama bin Laden, citing legal concerns, and instead tried to scare him by bombing some empty tents and taking out the night watchman at a Sudanese aspirin factory.

Bin Laden interpreted these actions as weaknesses and ordered the hijackers to board their jets on Sept. 11. Team Clinton responded to the killing of 500 Americans by attempting a mix of diplomacy -- negotiations through third parties -- and symbolic action. Al Qaeda responded by killing another 3,000."

Jimmy Carter probably thinks that he can solve this by negotiations, like he did mucking up in Korea.

The left and their America hating cohorts in the media will neither put up nor shut up.

They will simply lurch from faux outrage to faux outrage in the hopes of hitting their target.

What they don't realize is that Americans are beginning to understand that the target of the left is America and not it's enemies.

Not a smart move.

Well it's hilly, so a little does add to the excitement factor, but the theory is that we already know how to drive in it :-) In theory. LOL!

How should the world's pre-eminent superpower respond to jihadis who strike indiscriminately -- against Christians, Jews and Muslims, on the soil of Asia, Africa, Europe, America and Arabia?

Genocide, if that's what it takes.

Muslims WILL police their ranks, and clean up the act. They WILL stop making peace speeches while laughing up their sleeves.

There are countries that are Not Nice, and places that do not have our trembling Fifth Column of traitors.

For example, I was disappointed in Putin leaving Chechnya still sitting on bedrock after the school massacre.

One of these days, someone will lose their patience and set an example.

Good point

Re Carter and No Ko - Carter decided that US taxpayers were "wanting" to pay NoKo $1 bn in taxpayer money for developing nukes (sarcasm off) Then Clinton had the temerity to say that he'd told President Bush that the primary security concern was North Korea.

What a pantaloonless loser.

The antiwar antics can work if it's correct that there still is a strong isolationist feeling that crosses party lines.

Here's the challenge with that approach: the countries in the Middle East that we have the biggest security issues with don't permit dissent, which is why their hostility is transferred to external sources.

Just think for a moment about what's been going on in Lebanon. How could anyone have believed that short of invasion, we could create pressure to get Syria to start to withdraw.

Also consider this. Not too long ago, Mark Steyn reported that over 200,000 Jordanians went to the streets in Amman Jordan to protest Zarqawi, to the point in which Zarqawi actually had to apologize.

Sometimes it is good to look at an old situation in a new way.

Given 9/11, Beslan, Spain, London, Bali, Morocco, and other attacks on innocents I cannot believe there is a strong isolationist sentiment in America.

Still looking.

Meanwhile I have found the Church report and William Roth's the Power to Destroy

http://www.raven1.net/cointelpro/churchfinalreportIIa.htm
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/product-description/0871137488/ref=dp_proddesc_0/104-3395655-7982323?%5Fencoding=UTF8&n=507846

IIRC, it was a reference in a piece in NR, but I really don't remember who wrote it. I will keep looking
