The Democrats Have Issues
townhall.com ^ | 12/29/05 | Emmett Tyrrell

WASHINGTON -- 'Tis the end of 2005 and time to look back. In politics what do I see? Well, I see the Republican party struggling against high seas. In the media the party is depicted as being in danger of losing to the Democrats in the off-year elections next fall. That probably will be the case, unless the Republicans have to run against the Democrats. Against the Democrats they could win with Warren Harding in the White House.

The reason for this is that the Democratic leadership is fractured and dominated by people who are hysterical, abusive and oblivious. The things they have called George W. Bush this past year are as excessive as anything Joe McCarthy ever called his opponents, but without the charm or, for that matter, the factual basis. Not only that but they are feeding on their own. They have now made Sen. Joe Lieberman controversial and among the Democrats' left-wingers, objectionable.

His transgression is to treat a war as a serious matter and demur from criticizing the government in a way that might encourage our enemies. He is also consistent. As a Democrat, he has stood by the principles outlined by Harry Truman in the Truman Doctrine. In sum: "I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures."

I think what is at the heart of the Democratic leadership's rants and partisanship is a refusal to admit the opposition's good motives.

No, only liberals can have good motives. The Left must maintain the illusion that their motives are pure, and it is a very difficult task when the outcomes of their policies are so contrary to their feigned altruism.

They MUST succeed in making the other side "haters" as it helps to obscure what they stand for and what they have wrought on society.

The only issue Dims have is that they're missing the evolution gene. They're simpleton's stuck in a vicious liberal-socialist-fascist-communistand circle, and there's no way out. Kinda sad when you think about it. That is until you realize they're trying to enslave the world.

My guess is that the Democratic rank and file will in the years ahead side with Lieberman. That is the intelligent future for the party and there are still plenty of intelligent Democrats.
Lieberman takes a rational look at the war, and ends up siding with the Republicans. If he also took a rational look at the economy --- and the way economies work --- he would have to abandon his party altogether.

That's why the "Democratic rank and file" will never side with Lieberman. They correctly realize that once you start taking rational looks at reality, you start losing any reason to continue as a Democrat at all.

The fact that Lieberman fails to see this underlying truth is a testament to his own, bedrock irrationality.

"The Democrats Have Issues"

And their issues are: Abortion, abortion, abortion, legalize gay marriage, more handouts for the unproductive, abortion, abortion, bash Bush, abortion, affirmative action, abortion, and bulldyke NY senators.

What worries me more, isn't the political party as much as the people who actually vote for these idiots. Looking back at the time when I considered myself Liberal, I don't think I was gullible enough to fall for their ideology as it is today.

They're not going to do it. The distance between Lieberman and the Democrats is greater than the distance between Lieberman and the Republicans. The rank-and-file Democrats will not make that long of a leap. It's Lieberman who should be leaping. He should leave that party and come over to our side. As long as he's willing to check his socialist principles at the door.

The bulk of the Democrat party consists of two elements:
1) The first group is just stuck on stupid and vote Democrat because they always have.
2) The others are the something-for-nothing crowd. They think there should be "free" health-care, "free" education, "free" jobs training, etc. Sadly, this is what many Democrats promise and these people don't have the gray matter to realize there is no such thing a perpetual motion machine.

I guess what scares me the most about the Dems is their increasing ability to "put the squeeze" on the administration. They have perfected the game of verbal disarmament: they can criticize the administration and criticize it LOUDLY (the MSM is glad to help them with this). The catch is, their side of an issue is so often represented by a minority(s) or otherwise unapproachable subject. They have, thereby, chosen the administration's targets for them.

(1)The administration's hands were tied when faced with the criticism of their response to the Katrina fiasco. In order to defend themselves, they would have had to argue that a WOMAN(D) governor and and a BLACK(D) mayor were incompetent in their response and that they got in the way of a lot of agencies that tried to help. Ergo, complaining about the leadership in Louisiana would just fuel the fires of racism, already running amok over the issue.

(2)In the newest SCAM, the Dems are screaming bloody murder over the "covert" wiretaps (they call them "DOMESTIC" wiretaps-lieing through their teeth and they know it.)How is the administration supposed to respond to this? Do they produce evidence of times that this practice has saved lives? Yeah sure, in doing so they have to expose their tactics to the bad guys. The Dems are screaming that there was a lot more wiretapping going on than the White house originally reported. LOL! What are they supposed to do? I guess they should make public every phone conversation they monitor. THE NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL, CIA, ET AL, NEED SOME SECRECY TO OPPERATE AND IT IS BEING USED AGAINST THEM.

(3) Cindy Sheehan spits out her vindictive garbage and leaves the administration with no way to respond. What should they do, slap the face of a deceased veteran's mom? No, they continually respect her right to protest. That's all they can do.

The DEMS are increasingly becoming the party of disarmament, i.e. they verbally disarm their foes by putting out front an "untouchable" opponent.

All of these tactics put the ball in the DEMS court for a while. They eventually retreat, quietly, but the damage is done.

They certainly DO have issues. Their biggest issue is their lack of a platform...no take on any issues confronting the nation. Here's what they DO have:

1) They really REALLY hate Bush
2) Karl Rove is STILL under investigation

They are grossly handicapped by dean, kerry, kennedy, hitlery, pella lugosi and Dingy harry. They have nothing to offer and no hope. LMAO!

That's what I'm wondering. Where did the rat "rank and file" go off to? They are allowing the screaming lefties to run their party into the ground. Lieberman may be the last of the decent ones left, although he's liberal to the core on everything but the war on terror. I admit to a grudging respect for Joe, only because of his WOT stance.

I'm beginning to think that the "rank and file" are no longer in a position to direct their party. It's the deaniacs in charge. LOL!

Karl Rove is STILL under investigation

I was watching the ever-irritating Norah O'Donnell last night on "Spitball Without Slimeball Matthews". She just could not drop this total bull of Rove/Libby.

It is sheer insanity, because they are propped up by the idea that their message is stronger than it actually is.

Their message is heard and absorbed, but only by the fools who already are willing to take them seriously.

Oh well.

Liberman is an anomaly as a Jew. Where most Jews are Democrat supporters, the more conservative and orthodox (the minority) are more supportive of Republicans.

Lieberman as an Orthodox Jew is actually a minority within the minority.

So true! My job as an RN is hectic and stressful but I will NEVER have the anxiety that the rat politicians and "journalists/reporters" must have in going to work every day. They must subsist on Prozac, booze and a copious portion of BS just to get by.

Poll numbers are cyclical. Public opinion is cyclical. Our administration knows this. The numbers have been bad, but unfortunately for the demoncrats it wasn't an election year. Our numbers will be good during the election year.

roflol!

That is hilarious since I think I have seen a few of those recently! I especially like the eyes.

BTW, why do so many liberals look like they need worming? Or maybe they just climbed out from under a rock...eg; Alan Colmes, David Corn, Harry Reid, Ellis Hennigan, Eleanor Cliff, etc. They also never have a smile on their faces and they growl instead of talk.

For the 'men' on your list, I would venture to guess that they were immasculated as children, never leaving their mommies' skirt-tails, always crying to them when they didn't get their way, stomping their feet, holding their breath, etc., etc., etc. Now as adults, when they don't get their way they act the same as children.

As for Eleanor Clift, that is just one bitter woman.

Yup..that too. All I can say is, they must hate going to work every day, making up BS must be a difficult job. Hopefully, they'll die off early from the stress of pathological lying.
