While many Americans are uncomfortable and angry regarding the hostility of our two nearest neighbors, some intellectials and elitists consider the dissolution of American sovereignty and nationhood.

This is the Elite's vision of a weak USA being lead by 15 or so elites running the three countries with a combined congress --the CFR and others must be very happy as BUSH seems to be supporting this shift. G Washington is rolling in his grave- America is being given away thats why we have no control of illegals or the border- IT's the plan and WE are not part of it.

Just looking at this guy's bio was enough to warrant a barf alert.

I imagine his opinion poll was highly biased along with his poll sampling. Americans are ready for the country of North America? Nuh-uh.

ya but will they vote like it?? The elites are very very serious about weakening the USA as the worlds only Super power - remember people like MR BUSH have been taught at Ivy League schools that a Nation STATE is a threat to world peace - so we get NAFTA,CAFTA, UN support and open borders - taking of private property (kelo) -use of foreign law by SCOTUS -all to weaken the USA..they have a plan and it is working.

This is no less than treason and my illustrious senator is right in the middle of it. Down with John Cornyn!!!

Kay Bailey Hutchison is no better, unfortunately, nor are a large majority of Senators on both sides of the aisle. If they are opposed to the consolidation of the three nations, and ultimately the hemisphere, under one socialist, bureaucratic government, they are silent about it.

This guy fails to spell out any benefits for the American people. It seems like we are supposed to pay for some sort of Marshall Plan to uplift Mexico but what do we get in return? As far as I can tell, all we get is some sort of North American Government which will be even more remote and less responsive to our concerns then our current worthless Federal Government. We should be moving towards decentralizing governmental power back to the states and communities rather that further consolidating it at some Super Federal level. I have no desire to be a citizen of North America.

Throughout the article the guy keeps moaning and whinging about our government not being organized properly to focus on the needs of Mexico and Canada. He doesn't actually mention it but the pesky thing that he is complaining about is our Constitution.

One of the problems with this guy (and no wonder why RINO Hagel likes him) is that he fails to admit that the increased "social integration" in "North America" (read increased latino migration north) is a result not of popular will and popular choice on the part of U.S. and Canadian citizens but is due to immigration policy failure in the U.S.; failure to stop illegal immigration at the border.

The main problem remains with his presumption that "integration" is (1)warranted, (2)desireable, and (3)necessary; all of which are not true.

He fails to acknowledge that neighbors with borders can remain peaceful, expansive and beneficial trading partners without "integration" of their peoples. Europeans have been doing it, hear and there around Europe with off and on success for quite a while now.

The myth of the political elites, both here and in Europe, is that "national" identities must somehow give way. It is a major myth because the foundation of constitutional law and government is a social contract between "we the people" which presupposes a national identity of who "we" are.

It is a myth put forth by people like those at the Council and Foreign Relations because that is what they want, to strip people of "national identity" and of constitutional government; replacing both with vague references to "common values" and "common rights" enforced by an elitist, and dictatorial judiciary.

Dr. Pastor and his ivory tower will not be affected by the amalgamation of the U.S., Mexico, and Canada into one super-state. However, most of us will be adversely affected by the ingrafting of Canadian socialism and political correctness and Mexican corruption and narco-terror into our body politic.

Five years left.
The dead Republic is in the coffin, the coffin is nailed tight. These next few years will see the hole filled in, while glassy-eyed bots worship on the Day in the Life threads, he, who has betrayed the nation.

Correct, it is not his, nor Bush's nor any of their children who will live in a perpetual hell of socialism.

His opinion poll was simply the order he recieved from Bush, Martin and Fox.

Those are all the opinions he needs.

Both the Pubs and the Dums support it 100%. Remember, the only way to sidestep our constitution is by Treaties.

Once the new extra-parliamentary committee is set up, what need will there be for all these Congresscritters and Senators? Such shortsighted treason.

The world's greatest deliberative body of thieves and traitors will be a (even more)useless appendage.

I imagine they'll eventually eliminate the House, and keep the Senate as a show piece to lend Gravitas to the new empire.

How long before we see one of Cheney's horses installed as a Senator?

The internationalists want to do for North America what the European Union did for Europe. The tri-national parliament will increase control over the three member nations gradually. The Congress will remain bicameral but real power will go to the transnational parliament.

What we are seeing in this hemisphere is the slow motion destruction of our independence, using the European Union as its model. After all, what is now the European Union started out as a modest free trade association involving France, West Germany, and the Low Countries and established in 1957. NAFTA and the Free Trade Association of the Americas are not about legitimate free trade, but political power and the destruction of the American nation.

Since the plan is expected to be in place by 2010, it no longer seems so slow motion.

The Sheeple have failed every test put to them in the last twenty years, so the elites figure it is time to get it done.

Expect some ruthless monster to be chosen as the next president. They will have some work to do.

Maybe you're right, but I have seen one worlders come up with deadlines before that didn't come to pass. For example, the book, Looking Backward projected the establishment of a world socialist superstate well before 2000. The remark made by Clinton adviser Strobe Talbott a decade ago that by the end of the 21st century, the term "citizen of the world" would no longer be a metaphor but a reality is probably more more in keeping with the elite's goals. Even achieving their goal by 2099 would have to assume the effective suppression of China, radical Islam, and Stalinist/Tsarist wannabes like Putin in Russia before that time.
