NEW YORK Appearing on "Meet the Press" with Tim Russert this week, two broadcast veterans, Tom Brokaw of NBC and Ted Koppel...declared that Bill Clinton would have gone into Iraq just like George Bush if were still president in 2003.

Along with Russert, they also argued that it was a "uniformly held belief" that Saddam Hussein had WMD when the Iraq war began.

KOPPEL: I mean, the only difference between the Clinton administration and the Bush administration was 9/11.

BROKAW: Right.

KOPPEL: If 9/11 had happened on Bill Clinton's watch, he would have gone into Iraq.

BROKAW: Yeah. Yeah.

Pure BS!

I don't really care what either of them think. They are two of the most uninformed people on the planet since they never get out of their ivory towers. And especially since they don't talk or listen to anyone who disagrees with them.

Bill Clinton is a draft dodging coward. He wouldn't have taken the chance and besides his toe sucking pollster wouldn't let him. The only reason he lobbed missiles in Osama's direction was because he was about to be IMPEACHED!

Both: YEAH!

(Koppel & Brokaw engage in a media orgy - scene fades to black)

Cobra64..."BWAHAAHAAAAHAAAAAA!!!!!" is as much of a FReeperism as "hugh," "series," "stuned," "loose" or "beeber."

You've been around here long enough! We have our own language about things.

Here's another classic from Old Sarge: "Must... keep.. straight...face..."

Lets look clearly at the facts and thinking method of Billy Boy. After the first attempt on the World Trade Center...nothing. After the Africa consulate bombings...there was some investigation work...but no revenge. After the Cole....some finger-pointing but no revenge. If Billy Boy had been around for 9-11...he would have felt their pain. I doubt seriously that he would have flown to Cheyenne Mountain to consider national security...he would have rather flown to NY City to see the destruction and hold their hands. He might have asked the State Departement....not the CIA...to figure out who did this. And he might have asked the Afghan government to simply hand over Ossama...which they would not have done. After a year of trying to use the UN to coach the Afghan's into handing over Ossama....he would have gone to the press and said that he had done all that he could do. The amusing thing here is that Al Gore....with what little military background that he had...probably would have at least invaded Afghanistan...were he the president at the time. So that would be an improvement over Billy Boy. But Al would have set the limit to Afghanistan and getting purely Ossama...nothing more. Saddam would still be in power, and his sons waiting for him eventual death to take the reins of power.

Koppel and Brokaw can chat up a storm....but neither have a sense of reality about the nation or the world. They live inside a insulated cube...and have a marginal view of the real world.

Thanks for the article.

IMO, Even if he wanted too, Clinton would not have been able to provide the leadership to get it done. At least not without a dramatic transformation.

"Koppel and Brokaw Agree: Clinton Would Have Gone Into Iraq, Too"

These two Clinton-apologist rusty spews-anchors pose their revisionist opinion as factual and/or probable. "Liberals" will pick up on the planted idea so expect to hear Brokaw and Koppel's opinion transformed into the Democrat party's latest groupthink mantra. Koppel and Brokaw are a study in self-consuming irrelevancy.

The ONLY things that could get BJ Clinton into Iraq - would be some "campaign contributions" or a blow job.

Clinton was a criminally negligent POS and a coward to the bone.

Hillary would have stepped in and said....The budget calls for social programs, not war programs. We've managed to cut the military budget and siphon that money off. Don't mess it up with a war and useless security changes.

Bill Clinton is a draft dodging coward. He wouldn't have taken the chance and besides his toe sucking pollster wouldn't let him. The only reason he lobbed missiles in Osama's direction was because he was about to be IMPEACHED!

Scumbag's standard line was "we will round up these criminals and bring them to [Janet Reno's] justice. He said that after every single attack, like some tape recording--he never changed those words.

A better question to ask is what would Ronald Reagan or Teddy Roosevelt had done if the USS Cole was attacked by a (nation sponsor] after that [nation spnsor] had already declared war against the USA. Bin laden declared war against the USA in 1995-1996. Besides the USS Cole, the number of attacks on US interests was lengthy during Scumbag's regime.

Scumbag's response? Blow j**s in the Oral Office and his standard line of "we will hunt down these criminals and bring them to [Janet Reno's] justice."

Brokaw and Koppel are nuts.
