And you didn't see the section where Lamberth rejected 20 requests for warrants pre 9/11 for AQ terrorists IN this country? Selective reading on your part.
And where in the world did you dream up this question:
So having a court system is "acceptable" only if the Government wins 100% of the time?

He's exactly the man he always has been and I'd be shocked if he behaved any other way.
Specter has not changed one iota. Those of us who live in PA know what a snake he has always been and we tried to warn everyone what he would do if given the power of the Chairmanship of Judiciary. Everytime he opens his mouth, Santorum goes down in the polls. What a mistake he and Bush made to give anything but token support to him. There's no doubt in my mind that he will make both Santorum and Bush PAY for supporting him.

It was the FISA that approved it.

"Bush really should not have campaigned for Specter."Agreed. Spector is a self serving a$$...just like McCain but with even less class.

"I'm skeptical, but I'm prepared to listen." Specter would be skeptical of a snowflake...

How come it took 'em something like two and a half months to get to the Alito hearings, but this has to be done in one month. Who do these people work for?
To: clawrence3
Every FReeper should send this butt head an email, slamming him for his latest "liberal sounding" decision. Indeed, the American public is much smarter than Specter. We all understand the necessity of such "spying", whether he does or not!

Judge Lamberth, who sits on the FISA court, has ties to islamic extremists and rejected many FBI warrant requests, prior to 9/11. Good find.
To: Irish Eyes; Arizona Carolyn
Freepers Arizona Carolyn found it! And a most excellent find it is.

Don't forget that the Republican hierarchy, including President Bush, actively supported and campaigned for him against Toomy during the Pennsylvaniia primary.
And they also supported him against the people who did not want him as Chairman of the Senatr Judiciary Committee.
From my point of view, whatever he does to them, they deserve.

I think Specter has, this time, signed the death warrant on his political career. He barely squeaked by this last time with the President's help. I don't think his constituents will give him a pass this time for his irresponsible obstruction of our defense.
By the way, I consider appointing strict constitutional judges part of our homeland defense. If Specter gives the Alito appointment any grief, his political "goose" will really be cooked!

Well, Bush supported Spincter instead of Toomey Amen! He's reaping what he has sowed.

IF/When (?... God I hope not!!) there is another attack, this Specter guy and the other RINOs and ALL of the f%^#@ing dems will have blood on there hands. WE ALL know this to be true. They (the minority) are standing in the way of not only our freedom, but our survival. We all need to PUT THEM IN THEIR PLACE NOW AND FOREVER! They are not rational thinking Americans. I am sorry they have taken a wrong turn or turns somewhere, but I don't think these ignorant liberal pukes should stand between us and our freedom and perhaps survival. I am totally dismayed by this guy and the others who think their law degrees make them better than the rest of us. They have their heads up their assees and we all know it! They, the RINOS and the DemoRATS make me sick.

If Specter doesn't like the AG's opinion, he should sue. Listening to Specter debate the law with Gonzales should be interesting.

Specter's arteries are hardening. He won't stand a chance against Gonzales. I am long on the AG and my money is with him!
