What do you think about Lamberth's ties to the jihadists?

I wouldn't doubt they would secretly cheer another 9/11 attack if it made Bush look bad.

Oh, they're just WAITING for another attack so they can try to impeach the President. I hate to say this, I'm sure I don't mean it deep down, but if we have to get hit again I hope they blow up the congress. Probably the only way we could get meaningful change in that house of charlatans and moneychangers.

I have no idea what to make of it. Some of his rulings have been slapped down by higher courts, too, so he may be a bit of a loose cannon.

I just recall how he was considered quite a hero around here several years ago when he refused to sweep some Clinton admin cases under the rug. FWIW.

I'm reminded by another freeper that Lambert would order the Clinton administration to produce records and then when they didn't, Lambert just let it slide.

Also, Lambert never really did anything that damaged the Clinton's did he? He just made it look good and Judicial Watch looked like heroes.

Hey Arlen, maybe we should investigate how your client Ira Einhorn, escaped the country while on bail and you were his lawyer. Maybe you helped the Unicorn get away where he managed to elude capture for a could of decades while the Maddox family cried for justice in the death of their daghter, Holly?

And from another thread today we learned that the FISA court rejected more warrant applications during the Bush administration than the previous 4 administrations (24 years)

Yes, a whole whopping 3% of them.

When are we going to start the hearings to find out who in the CIA, NSA and the SENATE is leaking classified information to the New Yawk Slimes in an effort to undermine the war on terror and help the 'RATS regain the House and Senate? That is what is REALLY important here and the American people have a right to know who is doing it!!! Let's get with the program S.P.E.C.T.E.R!

Well, Bush supported Spincter instead of Toomey, who he could have had - with Kyl or somebody decent as Chairman of Judiciary.

Instead, he deep-sixed Toomey's chance and threw himself into the same corner as Snarlin' Arlen. Let him live with the nasty results, just as we have to.

Spincter is a millstone around all our necks, but Bush is the one who deserves his strutting, posturing and backstabbing for the backstabbing he gave Toomey and the rest of the conservatives in the GOP. Let Bush figure out how to live with this turkey, if he can. I don't have much sympathy for his plight. He made his own bed here.

Actually, I think this is a great idea (though I doubt that is Specter's intention). Let him have the hearings, in fact, let's televise the bloody things and have the administration go there and make the case for themselves. Forcefully. Confidently. Look the American people in the eye and tell them exactly what they are doing and why. No flowery prose. No "with all due respect" bowing down. Just stick out the jaw, spit out the bubblegum and start kicking ass till the message is clear.

3% where virtually none were modified in previous years, in view of 9/11, is unacceptable. And that's if I accept your percentage/number which I believe other journalists have debunked. But Libertarians may use a different math than they do.

Spector doesn't need to worry about any other damned thing next month other than first successfully concluding the Alito hearings.

It's way overdue time that Arlen retired.

A former White House aide with a Secret clearance warned US Attorney General, John Ashcroft a week after the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, that a Federal Judge with connections to Islamic fundamentalists, refused to authorize over 20 FBI wiretaps on Al Qaeda suspects before 9/11.

And how in the hell do you know that one of those 20 wiretaps wouldn't have stopped 9/11?

3% where virtually none were modified in previous years, in view of 9/11, is unacceptable.

So having a court system is "acceptable" only if the Government wins 100% of the time? Why bother with having courts or Congress at all, then? Why not just make Bush Dictator for Life?

And that's if I accept your percentage/number which I believe other journalists have debunked. But Libertarians may use a different math than they do.

I got the 3% figure from this FR thread, which reported that "since 2001, the judges have modified 179 of the 5,645 requests for surveillance by the Bush administration."

Why did G.W. Bush support the Reelection of Spector? this guy has been nothing but a thorn in the backside of the conservatives since he got into office so why would President Bush expect him to change his stripes.

This guy has done nothing to assist the Bush administration in either term.

Here is a great thread for reference, good article starts it, but lots of good info and additional articles posted in the thread.

Bush was denied wiretaps, bypassed them (FISA Court denied them in unprecedented numbers)
