No mercy for this guy. He was kept in office by the President's assistance and has done nothing since except betray him to the prevailing political winds.

Which is why I thought the President acted very very poorly with regard to Specter.

IMO he made the same mistake when he appointed Bill Clinton to represent this nation after the tsunami and hurricane Katrina.

You just don't give your enemies high profile appointments. They'll burn you every time. All you're doing is giving them more credence when they decide to betray you.

I'm starting to wonder if ol' Arlen isn't really SPECTRE and we should let 007 have at him.

LOL.

I think you just gave him his new name.

What a large pile of smelly stuff.

And GWB help him get reelected - ?

Sad.

Perhaps we should let him know it's first come, first serve...we'd like Able Danger hearings first.

Good! He can start by calling Sen. Harry Reid to explain where he got off spying on various Supreme Court nominees.

Specter needs to get of his old wrinkled rear and get on the warpath over Able Danger! This is obviously a badly disguised attempt to play politics over a non issue.

Spectre is almost a Democrat. Maybe he said something on a cellular call.

Well, January should be fun in WDC. The Dems will own the 2 weeks screeching about Alito, forever tainting his reputation regardless the outcome. Then, thanks to Bagpipes Specter, they get another week to caterwaul about wiretaps. Watch for the keywords: illegal, chilling, Nixon, Watergate, imperial, Big Brother, etc.

Bush really should not have campaigned for Specter.

Ditto that.

Bush really should not have campaigned for Specter.

Spector is such a weak and ineffective RINO, he only ends up making his Dem buddies look bad.
I think Bush actually sees him as an asset in the Senate. :)

Well, I think Bush remembers well the Jeffords fiasco, so I'm not saying control of the Senate is unimportant - in hindsight, however . . .

Arlen Specter is undermining our war effort with this display.

Surely the time has come for Specter to come clean and officially join the Dems...

Wish I knew how to post a jpeg picture of the STFU guy. Spector should be gone from his leadership role. I remember Laura Ingram denouncing him when he was up for Judicial leadership. Now we are paying. He should never have been given that post. What is wrong with Pubbies? The Dims don't do stupid things like that with their leadership roles - look they have Rocky in there where they need him. Rockefeller Implicated in Plot to Leak Secret War Intel

Is it just me, or does anyone else see potential for a GREAT drinking game out of this?

Some days I'd just like to donate that man to the Dems.

I say we trade Arlen for Joe Lieberman. At least Lieberman know there's a war going on!

It may be more complicated than that. Judge Royce Lamberth ws one of the few judges to strongly go after the Clinton administration's corruption. So-called 'FBI whistleblowers' might have another agenda (payback/smearing).

Whatever it is Specter wants, "it" is fortunately outside of his committee's jurisdiction.

You mean like his unsolicited advice and critique of the Saddam trial? Now, my friends, THAT was a case of ugly Americanism.

I think he's a showboater more than anything else. Like almost every other frickin' pansy that calls themselves a Senator. I'm so sick of that institution. I think it should be shut down pending a complete constitutional reform. Senior chamber, my eye.
