Don't bother with MTP. I have it on now and it's no more than a self-serving discussion amongst the dinasaur media.

Thanks an a merry Christmas to you Alas Babylon!

Just coudln't bleieve Timmy's rehash of katrina. All the stories they are talking about have been DISPROVED! This is just unbelievable. I had to turn it off.

All the stories they are talking about have been DISPROVED!

Exactly. I thought Tim's comeback would be that "we got the facts wrong" after that first clip but NO; more discussion on how the Bush administration failed.

I very much dislike the uber-partisan Tim Russert. The hunched over, frowning, stern-voiced grilling of republicans versus the leaned backed, smiling, open armed softball-ladened questioning of democrats Mr. Russert.

Russert, if you or any of your minions are reading this, you're not fooling us!

So, bottom line.... I can easily believe it!!!!

Where's McVain?

His make-up man must have the day off.

This was his big chance to be on 4 talk shows in the same day.

BTW, I've noticed that MSNBC and MTP seem to spend more and more time interviewing other media people. Why not talk to the Newsmakers?

Oh well, to anyone who watches the shows today, thanks. You deserve a FR medal.

Oh Fox and Friends..... I was also just listening. They reported a poll that showed republicans overwhelmingly believe in God and democrats are much less likely to. Julian remarked, "Oh, I don't believe that poll. It's nonsense." I turned the TV off.

Julian doesn't like the results, so he chooses not to believe THIS poll. The same polling firm shows Bush at 37%, and according to Julian it's a very bad omen for the President.

Merry Christmas, AB & All!

I, too , wanted to watch Peggy and also found the show pulled on our local northern MN station for a Disney promo. Just as well...Christmas music on the radio is a fine substitute until the grandchildren arrive in an hour or two. Far preferable to Timmie, Tommie, & Ted.

The clif of the NBC reporter who spoke of mass carnage inside the Superdome raised my eyebrows for sure. Was he flat out lying?

Final analysis showed 6 died in the Superdome. 4 of natural causes, one knife fight, iirc, and no children that I remember, contrary to this reporter's "eye-witness" account.

Agreed that the biggest story was more likely how wrong the media got it.

Plus the sonorous respectful tone while quoting from an article from the New York Times, while showing the text on the screen.

I just wish a guest would say something like, I decline to respond to anything from the unreliable rag, the NYT.

No question, the media not only got this wrong but exposed themselves as inept and willing to repeat rumors without learning the facts. If anything, the story of the year could well be the media's failure to verify news before reporting it.

Sure...

Nevermind that pesky impeachment.

Monica.

Clinton's repeated refusal to deal with terrorism causing Bin Ladin to cite he'd learned America was a paper tiger that would cut and run.

The Clinton's addiction to polls to the extent they formed vacations around them.

Setting the IRS on their political enemies.

Trying to accuse their adversaries of being responsible for Oklahoma (Rush) or labeling them part of a vast right wing conspiracy.

Their cosy relationship to China.

We can keep going.
