AUSTIN - I'm so sorry, but we are having a constitutional crisis. The timing couldn't be worse. Right in the middle of the wrapping paper, the gingerbread and the whole shebang, a tiny honest-to-goodness constitutional crisis...
**snip**
The Department of Defense has just proved this yet again with its latest folly of mistaking a flock of Florida Quakers for a threat to overthrow the government. A few months ago, a student at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth tried to check out a copy of Mao's Little Red Book and wound up being interviewed by two feds. Cointelpro and all those misbegotten Nixon-era spy programs were always making ludicrous mistakes...

Or not.
And speaking of ludicrous mistakes - how's that size 14 taste, Miss Piggy?
Oh, yeah - I almost forgot - Bush sucks, Bush lied and Bush is corrupt

That kid has admitted it was all a complete lie.
To: an amused spectator
I think that post Katrina most of these libs are wishing for another terrorist strike on America so they can declare that it was the Bush administrations fault and he didn`t protect us.
Too bad for them we have a President that is working night and day to protect us,unlike Clinton who never let security get in the way of "other" priorities.
Darn him,he is doing his job and getting in the way of the rats political plans.

Sorry, I'm from Austin, TX. The writer is Molly Ivins - I'm sorry I can't believe anything she says. Too many years of hysterical hysteria.
Recent FReeper post shows "Little Red Book" boy - - liar. Then there's the 'Omission Commission' grades - - balderdash. More piffle.
I'm glad your amused cause she is only a short laugh but amusing. Thanks for the laugh.

A few years ago Molly broke into the national consciousness because she was a "sassy southern woman who called 'em like she saw 'em" and was a liberal. Interviewed on TV, profiled in magazines.
Now she shows up rarely on national TV and looks completely confused, a grinning old fool who doesn't know that everyone else in the room thinks she's been drinking. Her columns are basically filler--no one talks about them, she doesn't break stories, she simply coughs up the accepted liberal wisdom a week later, adding to the pure numbers of columnists who write about certain articles so boobs on TV can say "the story is the subject of columns all over the country" or whatever. She seems to think she is one of the top columnists, a real sparkplug, but she's a has-been who never was.
She's just filler. So is what's between her ears.

Being a resident of the great state of Massachusetts I learned long ago that the law only applies when the coppers are present.
I have a collection of seditious literature and various field expedients that would get me incarcerated in a second, every one purchased second hand at flea markets, yard sales and second hand sources.
I have CIA and MI field expedients published for overseas distribution to operatives in various countries, assassination manuals, 'device' manufacture from household goods and many other documents that would get me an(other) FBI interview in a second.

I was tempted to comment that she usually comes out with a column a week after everyone else, but you made the point for me.
But she still belongs to Creators Syndicate and probably gets well paid for her nationqally syndicated birdcage filler.
Like Michael Moore, she's off the radar screen, but she's still laughing all the way to the bank.

You can click on "About Knight-Ridder" at the bottom of the article's page.
Then click "Contact Us" at the top of that next page.
Then select "Contact a Newspaper"
The rest should be fairly obvious...
I emailed the following:
On Thursday, Dec. 22nd, you published
"The law applies to each of us"
By MOLLY IVINS
Creators Syndicate
It seems like you owe your readers a correction as the student at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, who said he tried to check out a copy of Mao's Little Red Book and wound up being interviewed by two feds, has admitted making up the entire story.
I'm always disappointed to find inaccurate and/or unverified stories being used to support editiorial opinions.
Hopefully, your news organization will do more fact checking in the future before you allow your opinion columns to be published.
I expect that you will issue a correction, won't you?
Thanks for listening.

Never did like vinegar, smells bad! The county is not all Libs. There is still a base of conservatives even after 100+ years of Democrat rule.
Many still talk and act like TR ("Walk softly and carry a big stick") or Barry Goldwater (A government that is big enough to give you all you want is big enough to take it all away.) or Ronald Reagan ("Freedom is one of the deepest and noblest aspirations of the human spirit."). And there are most definitely some "Dubya" stalwarts.
Take care and have a great Christmas.

Not that Molly and the rest of these leftist vermin gives a rat's petoot about the truth, he!!, these democRATS don't even believe there is such a thing as "truth".
These nests of treasonous vipers in our midst, seize any opportunity to hurt America, and are always busy working against America's interests.
