The wealthy Massachussett residents don't want us to drill in the ANWR, but they don't want us to buil a wind farm in their back yard either.
Teddy, let's make a deal. If we don't put a windfarm in your backyard, will you approve that we drill for oil in ANWR?
thank you for pointing out the obvious, no offense intended. Nantucket Sound is a BODY OF WATER not a primo vacation spot. I am of mixed emotions as my family and I boat in the area, it's not the sight that bothers me, nor the environmentally friendly energy that it may produce..
(DRILL ANWAR!)
but we have some really nasty weather here and I don't want to be sitting on the beach two summers from now with a hurricane ruined wind turbine up my @ss from a strong gust of wind!
It's no really a NIMBY case for me, it is for fathead and the traitor, I am just having a hard time wrapping my brain around this working in this particular area..
Wonder who has been greasing his palm?
You forgot no ANWR...no offshore drilling..
No you dont plant beans to grow wind you eat alot of them and then wait a couple of hours :-)
I once knew a woman from Nantucket...
Whom Ted Kennedy wanted to f*ckit,
His car sailed off a bridge,
Kennedy swam to the ridge, while
they scooped her remains with a bucket.
Good place for a hog farm or a feed lot.
If it is ok to build wind farms in middle America near middle class folks...
then it should be ok to build them near the Kennedy's, the Kerry's, the Letterman's, the Cronkite's homes...?
These elites have several homes that they fly to. They do not care about energy prices.
A remote island should be one of the best places to build wind farms...minimal transmission lines, etc.
The only thing worse than a limousine liberal is a Gulfstream environmentalist!
"Kennedy penned an irate New York Times op-ed in December, condemning the proposed building of wind turbines around the Nantucket Sound."
"While Kennedy criss-crosses the country in his jet-fuel-burning private plane stumping for alternative energy sources, he wants an exception for his own backyard."

Heck, if it were up to me, they would be first in line to be taken offline when power limits are reached.
Not surprising at all. Have you read 'Do As I Say, Not As I Do: Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy' by Peter Schweizer yet? Excellent book, lots of good examples of lib. 'environmentalism'.
There are lots of small things that can be done to save energy and money now.
Insulate everywhere for winter and summer.
Caulk and seal ...better "R" rated windows and doors.
It works wonders for me.
Good thinking. Make it a nuclear plant
What may be obvious to someone like who lives there, but it is far from obvious for those of us who do not and just have the article posted to go by.
I have no problem with anyone restricting whatever they want in their own homes state or home town, but be truthful about it. To restrict this wind farm because it would interfere with shipping is a bold face lie and restricting it using the federal government is not the way to do this.
